Retirement should be a chapter, not a blank page.
In the base game, a retired Sim's career panel forgets the job they held. Real Retirement keeps their working life on the card: the job they retired from, the career and level they reached, the days they put in, and the pension it earned them.
Features
- Retired career card in the career panel, drawn with the game's own career card and the game's own job titles
- Works with every career from every pack you own, gendered job titles included
- Appears the moment a Sim retires, and for Sims who retired before you installed the mod
- Fixes the base game showing retired Sims as having no job after a save loads
- No settings, nothing to click. Retiring works exactly as before.
Good to know
- The first time you load a save, and after each game update, the mod reads the game's job titles once during the loading screen.
- The card's text is in English. Job titles and career names appear in your game's language.
- Taking a new job ends retirement, just like the base game: the game asks first, the pension stops, and the normal career panel comes back. Retire them again and the card returns with their newest job.
- A custom career you wrote for a Sim always stays as you wrote it.
- Like the game's own custom career card, the retired card has no Get a Job button. Retirees can still find work on the phone or computer.
Installation: put RealRetirement.ts4script in your Mods folder (at most one folder deep), enable Script Mods in Game Options, restart the game.
Compatibility: base game only, no packs required. No tuning or UI overrides, so it plays nicely with other mods. Built and tested on game version 1.128; after major game updates, check back for a refresh.
Removal: delete RealRetirement.ts4script, RealRetirement_Log.txt and RealRetirement_data.json from your Mods folder. Saves are unaffected.
