So a while ago I was playing a max-level Natural Living Sim and decided to make his home lot off-the-grid, because why did he need power or water? The poor fellow was constantly beset with Nature's Revenge, and it's been a bother ever since.
Nature's Revenge is a base game mechanic in which sometimes eating a harvestable will result in what is essentially diarrhea. Annoying, and very disruptive, especially when eating multiple harvestables, where you're rolling the dice multiple times.
What I have done in this mod is a few things:
- Added Glutton to the trait list (like freegan was already) since they have no problem eating spoiled food and will do so rather gleefully.
- Added two skill checks, one for gardening (level 5) and one for natural living (level 6) that gives them each many, many advantages with numbers that make it very statistically unlikely they will ever roll for Nature's Revenge.
- Buffed the raw numbers for the One With Nature trait. (Which is the Naturalist trait from the Freelance Botanist aspiration)
- Buffed the whitelisted traits as well (Freegan, Green Fiend, Glutton (I added), Clumsy, Loves Outdoors), but not as much as the skill checks. I just doubled it so it is more unlikely, but still very possible without gardening or natural living skills.
I didn't want to just remove the chance of ever having Nature's Revenge whatsoever, so this keeps the game mechanic intact, but as long as your Sim's gardening skill is level 5, you won't really have to worry about it.
I have included two files here, one with the natural living skill check and one without, in case you want this without Enchanted by Nature installed. Only use the one you want.
I have only edited the specific Nature's Revenge weighted loot table file, so this should be compatible with just about everything. This does nothing to the actual off-the-grid files.
