Right now, I’m in-game playing as a Sim who loves to paint, and I keep wanting to keep copies of their artwork.
But why does “Create a Copy” cost exactly as much as the painting is worth? You gain nothing...it’s a net ZERO!

In my mind, creating a copy should work more like making a print of the original artwork: much cheaper, while still letting your Sim keep and share the art they created!
So I made a small mod that changes the existing “Create a Copy” price to just §10. :)
🎨 Keep a Copy
Changes the existing painting copy interaction to cost §10. Your Sim keeps the original, and the copy goes into their inventory!

Works with the game’s standard small, medium, and large painting canvases.

Includes paint-from-reference paintings using those canvases.

Other crafted items keep their usual copy prices.

The game’s normal copy quality and value rules still apply.
📂 Installation

Close your game and unzip the download.

Place SuoSoup_PaintingCopies10.ts4script in your Mods folder, or one folder directly inside it. Unzip the .ts4script file itself.

Delete localthumbcache.package from your Sims 4 folder while the game is closed.
No XML Injector or additional mod dependencies are required.
✅ Testing & compatibility
Built for game version 1.127.41.1030 and tested in my game: §10 charged, copy received, original kept!
Mods that change the same copying interaction or its payment calculation may conflict. Custom paintings using different object tuning may not be covered. If anything acts up, let me know your game version and what happened. Happy painting! 💚
