Seasons brings costumed kids to your door... but your own Sims can never go out trick-or-treating, fall has no Halloween in the calendar, and the candy is gone the moment it is given. Trick-or-Treat Night builds on what Seasons already has and turns it into a full Halloween night.

✨ Features

📅 Halloween in the calendar

• A Halloween holiday is added automatically to the last day of fall in every save, like October 31st.
• It comes with the Seasons traditions: Trick-or-Treat, Wear Costumes, Spooky Spirit and Decorate, the spooky decorations, and a day off school.
• It is a normal holiday: you can rename it, edit its traditions or move it in the calendar like any holiday you created yourself.
• The date adapts to your season length. If another holiday already takes that day, the closest free day is used.
• Deleted it from the calendar? The mod respects your choice and won't add it back on its own.

🚪 Go trick-or-treating

• On Halloween, from 5 PM to 10 PM: Phone > Travel > "Go Trick-or-Treating".
• Pick who comes along: children, teens, parents... The whole group leaves for about 2 hours.
• A child cannot go alone: a teen, adult or elder must be in the group (setting).
• Only costumed Sims can collect candy: no costume, no candy! Chaperones may come in their usual clothes. Back home, each Sim who collects candy gets 8 to 20 candies. The whole group gets Fun, Social and the "Sweet Haul" moodlet.
• Coming back early? You only get part of the candy.

🍬 Candy that you keep

Each Sim keeps their own candy stash, saved with your game.

• Click your Sim: "Eat a Candy (N left)": a little Hunger and Fun.
• Click another Sim: "Give a Candy": one candy for them, and a small friendship boost for both.
• 3 candies within 2 hours: "Sugar Rush" (Energized).
• A child who eats 7 candies in one day: "Stomach Ache" (Uncomfortable)... you've been warned!

🕸️ Spooky Spirit for everyone

In Seasons, the Spooky Spirit tradition only counts occult, ghost, pumpkin carving or pipe organ actions: hard to fill without the right packs. Now these count too:

• 4 new friendly socials, from children to elders, with any Sim from children up (kids can scare each other too!): Tell a Spooky Story, Tell a Ghost Legend, Talk About Monsters, Compliment Costume. Find them in Friendly > Activities, next to "Sing about Halloween".
• Share Holiday Spirit (young adults and older).

Two of these actions and the tradition is done.

👻 Pranks

In Seasons, a trick-or-treater who rings and gets no answer simply leaves. Not anymore: if nobody gives a treat or a trick, they take their revenge with puddles in front of your door, and your Sims at home get the "Pranked by Trick-or-Treaters" moodlet (Angry).

🦇 Halloween evening at home

• Automatic costumes: at 4 PM on Halloween, every Sim of your household at home, from toddlers to elders, puts on a random costume, and puts it back on after a shower, a swim or work.
• Halloween notifications: one in the morning to remind you that trick-or-treating is tonight from 5 PM to 10 PM, and one at 5 PM when it starts.
• More costumes for every age in the "Wear Costume..." menu: toddlers, children (Seasons only gives them Yoda and Sausage!) and teens to elders. Only the costumes of the packs you own show up, so the mod works with or without any kit. See the list below.
• "Wear Costume..." gets an icon in the pie menu.
• Trick-or-treaters ring your doorbell from 5 PM to 10 PM while someone is home: one every 30 minutes by default (setting), on top of those walking by in Seasons.
• The whole neighborhood dresses up: every toddler, child and teen around you wears a costume, and one adult out of two.

⚙️ Settings on the computer

Click any computer and choose "Halloween Settings". Click a line to switch to its next value.

Sims who don't collect candy can still come along on the tour to chaperone: they get the Fun, Social and moodlet, but no candy.

• Settings are shared by all your saves; candy and the holiday are saved per save.
• Translated into English, French, Spanish, German and Italian. Other game languages display English.
• No dependency: you do NOT need Sims 4 Community Library (S4CL) or any other mod.

📋 Requirements

• Seasons expansion pack (required). No other pack or kit needed: the extra costumes of a pack only show up if you own it.
• Script mods must be enabled: Game Options > Other > "Script Mods Allowed", then restart the game.
• Tested on the latest game version.

💾 Installation

1. Download and unzip the file.

2. Move the "TrickOrTreatNight" folder (with its 2 files) into your Mods folder: Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods

3. Make sure both files are there:

   • TrickOrTreatNight.ts4script
   • TrickOrTreatNight.package

   ⚠️ The .ts4script file must not be more than ONE folder deep inside Mods.

4. Start the game and make sure script mods are enabled.

Load your save: Halloween is added to the calendar right away.

🎮 How to use

1. Open the calendar: Halloween is on the last day of fall.
2. On Halloween, put a candy bowl near your door for the trick-or-treaters... or prepare for pranks!
3. From 5 PM, use the phone: Travel > "Go Trick-or-Treating", and pick who comes along.
4. Back home, click your Sims to eat or give their candy.
5. Change anything in "Halloween Settings" on a computer.

❓ FAQ & known limitations

• Halloween doesn't show in my calendar? Make sure you have Seasons and that the setting "Halloween in the calendar" is On. If you deleted the holiday, switch the setting Off then On again, or use the cheat trickortreat.add_holiday.
• Trick-or-treating refused? Every Sim who collects candy must wear a costume. After a shower, a swim or work, the costume is gone: put it back on (click the Sim > Wear Costume...), or let the "Automatic costumes" setting do it.
• "Go Trick-or-Treating" is not in the phone? It only appears on a day with the Trick-or-Treat tradition. It's greyed out before 5 PM and after 10 PM.
• My child can't go? With "Children need a chaperone" On, add a teen, adult or elder to the group.
• Can I use it with a Halloween holiday I created myself? Yes: the tour, the costumes and the pranks work on any holiday with the Trick-or-Treat tradition.
• Cheat commands (Ctrl + Shift + C, then testingcheats on):
  • trickortreat.status: mod status, holiday date, candy of the active Sim.
  • trickortreat.test_mode on: the tour is available at any time, any day (off to stop).
  • trickortreat.give_candy 10: gives 10 candies to the active Sim.
  • trickortreat.visitor: sends a trick-or-treater to your door right now.
  • trickortreat.add_holiday: adds Halloween to the calendar again.
• Where is my data saved? Settings: TrickOrTreatNight.json in your Mods folder. Candy: in the saves folder, TrickOrTreatNight subfolder, one file per save slot.

🐞 Found a bug?

Please leave a comment with:

• what you were doing when it happened,
• the file Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods > TrickOrTreatNight.log,
• your last exception file (lastException.txt, or mc_lastexception.html if you use MC Command Center).

🗑️ Uninstall

1. Before removing the mod, click a computer > "Halloween Settings" and switch "Halloween in the calendar" to Off in each save you played with it, then save. (Otherwise the holiday simply stays in the calendar as a normal Seasons holiday.)
2. Delete the "TrickOrTreatNight" folder and the TrickOrTreatNight.json and TrickOrTreatNight.log files from your Mods folder.

Your saves stay safe.
