Copperdale Stories by Sims on Venus

A mod to enhance the sims 4 high school years!

Welcome to my newest mod. Sims on Venus Copperdale Stories!

Choose your classmates, build a friend group, spread school gossip, and decide whether your teen repairs a friendship or starts a rivalry. Copperdale Stories adds choices, conversations, notebook records, sentiments and school consequences to teen life.

*Requirements:* The Sims 4 High School Years and XML Injector. Get Famous adds celebrity features but is optional. Dynamic Teen Life is optional; Copperdale can use its social groups when available.

Getting started

Click your active teen → *Copperdale Stories* for school controls.

Choose classmates before a new school day or prom begins. The chosen roster guides attendance; Friend-group pickers use your selected classmates.

Click another teen → *Copperdale Stories* for this mod’s social interactions. EA’s own rumor socials are separate and do not automatically enter this mod’s rumor log.

Spread a rumor

1. Click the teen who will hear it → *Copperdale Stories → Spread a rumor*.

2. Choose who you will talk about. The subject can be any living teen your Sim has personally met, including someone off-lot.

3. Choose what to say. The Sims then meet and gossip; the reply tells you whether the listener believed it.

New Buffs and Sentiments!

These sentiments describe the listener’s impression, not an established fact. Sentiments follow the game’s duration and slot rules. A rejected claim does not create the rumor sentiment. Believed stories can also damage friendship and Copperdale standing.

Friendship, romantic trust and evidence influence belief. A romantic partner gets a strong trust advantage, but evidence still matters. A story your Sim has no supporting event for is recorded as invented; the mod does not automatically detect every flirt or mean action from the base game or another mod.

Reading the notebook

Open the native notebook → *Rumors → Rumor log*. Their card shows the rumors they told, secrets they shared and actions your active Sim knows they took.Subjects and listeners remain named in the details.

*Copperdale Stories → View Rumor Log* uses the same structure: choose a person, then select a record to read or investigate. Agenda rewards have their own section. Switching Sims shows only that Sim's saved knowledge; it does not reveal private motives or facts they have not learned.

Secrets and real betrayal

At friendship +40, *Share a Secret* offers Secret Crush, School Insecurity, Fake Friend, Taking Credit, Family Pressure, and Feeling Left Out. Secret Crush lets you choose a teen your Sim knows without creating a romance relationship. The other secrets are authored confessions selected by you.

A completed confidence can give the speaker *Feeling Understood* toward their listener. The listener may later *Reveal Their Secret* to someone else. That conversation reveals the actual saved wording and records the disclosure. Revealing a confidence can make the betrayer seem Untrustworthy. Sharing a taking-credit confession can give Credit Stealer toward the subject; sharing a fake-friend confession can give Untrustworthy.

Each listener currently keeps the latest entrusted secret from each owner. Revealed events preserve the wording at the time of disclosure. Secrets are not automatically exposed to every teen.

*Attempt to Befriend for Popularity* raises friendship to at least +40 after the conversation. The target responds, and a group invitation can follow. The motive stays private until admitted or discovered. A friend of the affected Sim can use *Accuse of Using My Friend for Popularity* to investigate a recorded scheme. A victim receiving proof of an actual betrayal can lose up to 50 friendship toward the offender, once per event, with that special loss stopping at −40.

Investigate or fake evidence

Open Copperdale’s rumor controls and select an incident. Investigate, confront the source, or share evidence through conversations. Useful testimony comes from an actual source or witness; an uninformed listener cannot manufacture proof.

If your Sim started the story, they can invent supporting evidence: *“I heard it from…”* or *“I saw them say it to…”*. Name a teen your Sim has met, even if they are off-lot, then choose a present listener. The original listener is excluded from the named-source picker so they can receive the lie. They can later question the named Sim when present and expose the fabrication. Exposing a supporting lie and discovering the underlying rumor’s truth are separate findings.

Agendas and rewards

Ordinary gossip requires no agenda. *Choose an agenda instead* lets you pursue Retaliation, Social Climbing, Divide a Friendship, Protect a Friend or Expose Wrongdoing. Two distinct successful outcomes earn Score Settler, Social Strategist, Master Manipulator, Fiercely Loyal or Truth Seeker respectively. Failed attempts and repeating the same story do not farm rewards.

Cliques and rivals

Choose among Trendsetters, Athletes, Creatives, Scholars, Rebels and Unaffiliated. With DTL, Copperdale reads its groups and uses its group-joining interaction. Copperdale’s credibility remains its own value.

Negative friendship between eligible students automatically creates a mutual rivalry. Rivalry controls and the 15-Sim-minute active-student check update it. *School Tension and Conduct* lists current rivals even if no incidents exist. Confront a rival, stand up for yourself after bullying, offer a truce, or request mediation. Close friends who witness a confrontation may take sides. An accepted truce removes the rivalry and raises negative friendship to at least zero so it does not immediately return.

*If you have Dynamic Teen Life by ADeepIndigo Installed the social groups will just remain as they are*

School tension and consequences

The shared meter runs from Calm (0–24), People Are Talking (25–49), Taking Sides (50–74), to Breaking Point (75–100). Existing dislike alone does not increase it. Believed rumors, exposed lies, witnessed confrontations and recorded school bullying do. Corrections, mediation, accepted explanations, truces and hangouts can reduce it.

At higher tension, the designated NPC school meanie may attempt a real insult during lunch. Involved students can receive Taking Sides, and the principal can offer mediation. Cutting remarks count only when their school conversation completes.

The principal hears both students first. *Gossip and rivalry alone do not earn detention.* Verified bullying continuing after completed bullying mediation can earn native after-school detention; use Serve Detention on the whiteboard. A completed native Fight or HSY School Fight at school suspends both teen participants for the next scheduled school day and sends them home. The career panel may label the internal absence reason as sick leave. Canceled fights and pillow fights do not count.

Trendy and Nepo Baby Traits

*Trendy* is a CAS personality trait for teens and older. Show off a look, ask for styling advice, compliment an original style or ask for credit. Style sharing asks permission for hair, makeup or clothes; it creates a new outfit rather than overwriting the original. Associated moodlets recognize inspiration, originality and copying without credit.

*Nepo Baby* is automatically awarded to qualifying infants through adults with a four/five-star celebrity or recognized high-ranking royal parent or grandparent. Qualification depends on available family history and recognized traits. It provides 1.25× supported skill gain, 1.25× positive school performance and a one-time A-grade head start at each school stage. There are no repeated high-grade announcements.

Children and teens can ask a parent for a family-funded personal allowance. The parent approves or declines and chooses the amount. Young adults and older use household funds; remaining personal allowance returns to the household. Infants and toddlers receive no allowance conversations.

With Get Famous, successfully befriending a famous teen for popularity can add one fame star, capped at five, and +10 reputation once per target. Fame opt-out is respected.

Principal visits and donations

Qualifying parents can request a home meeting or receive an invitation naming their student. Four/five-star families qualify automatically; three-star families need §20,000 in cumulative school donations. Donations cost §2,000, §5,000 or §10,000 from household funds.

“A family of your distinction deserves my personal attention—especially when it comes to {student’s name}. May I stop by to discuss their future at Copperdale?”

The Meeting with the Principal event includes a conversation and optional donation. Discipline mediation at school has no celebrity or donation requirement.

Settings, Social Bunny and testing

Player Settings offers basic feature and rumor-type switches plus the classmate picker limit. Relationship values, credibility, odds and cooldowns are managed by the mod. NPC rumors can occur through actual conversations. Known incidents and evidence can be posted through the existing Social Bunny feed
