Description

The Volvo 142 was where Volvo fully embraced the brick with windows look - and somehow made it work. Straight out of Sweden, it’s a perfect example of lagom: not flashy, not fast, just exactly as much car as you need. Despite its traditional layout, it was surprisingly advanced for its time, especially when it came to safety and solid engineering. It’s built like it expects to outlive you, your neighbors, and possibly their furniture. In the end, it proves that being sensible - and a bit square - can actually be pretty cool.

I made the model from scratch for another game, two years, where it got only very little attention, but I thought it would be perfect in the Sims, at least for the players who like a bit of a vintage European look and/or in and around the house.

The car comes

  • in 3 different versions: the original with the big aluminium grill, the face lift with 3-part grill and the final version, with a complete facelift, also of the tailights.
  • each has 8 different colours, that the car was sold in, in 1970s
  • with the deco elements in the buy mode and costs 5000 credits.
  • needs no Expansion Packs - basegame only
  • can stand outside, no problem. Its a trooper!
  • can have some objects placed on its bonnet and roof
  • can be looked at as a sculpture by the sims - I thought that would fit for a vintage car

Known issues:

  • I wanted the sims to also be able to lay on the bonnet, as on a sun chair. I wasn't able to get that done.
  • Feel free to message me if you can tell me how to fix these. But don't forget, I'm a noob.

Feel free to comment! I love comments
