Tombstone and Urn - ts2 Conversion

Sims2 to Sims4 Tombstone and Urn Conversion

There's a distinct lack of variety in regards to graves in the Sims4 (or there was when this CC was new).  Even with the CC out there, I kinda wanted to have more.  And I wanted it to be from the Sims; not anything from a different game series.  And that's why I set out to convert the tombstones and urns form the Sims2 to the Sims4.   And I wanted ALL of them - even the default one which I don't even really like.  Even the Cheap one found by another Simmer (which I later learned exists).  Even the pet one because pets are people too!

So if you want a gaudy graveyard or to continue a story from the Sims2 or just want more variety for your Sims4 graveyard these are for you!  You can even engrave an epithet, just like the basegame's decorative tombstones.  Because that's what they're based on.

After doing them I can kinda see why they weren't done before.  The basic one is, well, basic.  But the aspirational ones all have this odd, faceted look to them.  I think it relates to how the Sims2 handled metallic objects.  I think those parts were broken up like that to give them an interesting shine in the Sims2 ... and it doesn't translate too well to the Sims4.  I tried to merge the faces, but that made another problem, so I left them as they were.  If they're faceted so be it!  While I made sure to use proper normals for the regular tombstone I also included one without the rugged texture on it too.  Since I kinda like how that looks better.  Interestingly there are several different versions of the broken aspirational urn that corresponds to all the aspirations (that use those specific textures) ... but they're mapped to the wrong aspiration!  I modified the texture to erase the shadow.  I mean, who needs so many different textures for the broken urn?

This set includes the "grow up" tombstone by Michelle at Mod the Sims (done with permission).  At first I had trouble getting the tombstones from Sims2 and had planned to use hers, but I was ultimately able to rip them myself and the Urns too.  I also used her idea to make silver versions, although Sims2 does that differently.

This set also uses the Cheap Tombstones and Urn by CrabOfDoom at Mod the Sims. His TOS says people can convert his Maxis based stuff and there's only one item there, so I guess it's okay.  With his, though, I used an unused texture that was attached to the regular tombstone that seems to fit his Cheap version (it has a crack in it and everything! THAT's pretty cheap) as well as the texture from the Sins2 PSP where this model is actually used.  Although I included his wood texture too.  Because why not, right?  The straightened and toppled ones are ones he modified.
