Lazy Miner
This mod was created using Claude AI.
How long have you spent swinging your pickaxe at an Ore Node, only to not be able to find the hitbox, or not be able to hit it because its half in the terrain? Lazy Miner fixes that.
With this mod, when you break an ore deposit and the node still has deposits left, the nearest remaining deposit moves into the spot you just mined. Find one comfortable spot, keep swinging, and empty the whole node without having to fumble around.
Features
- Server side - On a dedicated server, only the server needs Lazy Miner. Players don't need to install anything.
- Mine one spot - Every remaining deposit comes to you.
- Fully balanced - Damage, ore, gems, XP, critical hits, Rocksplosion and respawn timers are all handled by the game exactly as normal.
- Survives reloads - Deposit layouts are rebuilt from the game's own saved mining record, so they stay correct after reloading, server restarts, or arriving at a half-mined node later.
- Any node size - Works on nodes with any number of deposits.
- Safe uninstall - The mod never writes to your save, so you can remove it at any time.
How it works
The game keeps a record of which deposits on each node have been mined, and in what order. Lazy Miner replays that record and moves the remaining deposits accordingly. It never changes the record itself, which is why balance and saves are untouched.
Requirements
Installation
I recommend using the CurseForge App to manage your mods. This should work for both Solo and Co-Op self hosting
- Install UE4SS for RSDragonwilds.
- Click the 'Install' button from the Lazy Miner project page via the CurseForge App
- Launch the game.
-
Manual Solo or Co-Op hosting:
- Install UE4SS for RSDragonwilds.
- Download LazyMiner from the project page via your web browser.
- Extract the
LazyMiner folder into RSDragonwilds\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\
- Launch the game.
-
Dedicated server:
- Back up your world and stop the server.
- Install UE4SS for RSDragonwilds in the server's
RSDragonwilds\Binaries\Win64\ folder, next to the server executable. Replace dwmapi.dll with version.dll (a separate download on the UE4SS for RSDragonwilds page).
- Extract the
LazyMiner folder into the server's ue4ss\Mods\ folder and add LazyMiner : 1 to ue4ss\Mods.txt.
- Start the server and check
ue4ss\UE4SS.log for [Lazy Miner] Loaded v1.0.1.
-
Players joining the server do not need Lazy Miner. If a player has it installed but the server does not, Lazy Miner does not work.
Good to know
- If anything seems wrong, Rocksplode it!
- After loading in, a deposit can take up to about 3 seconds to move into place.
- Don't use UE4SS's Restart All Mods button while standing near a half-mined node. Restart the game or server instead. Otherwise the mod can lose track of that node's original layout until it respawns.
- Boulders such as stone, granite, sandstone & Rune Essence are left alone
Companion mod
Lazy Count (optional, player-side) shows the deposits left in a node's name, for example "Iron Ore Node (3)".
Changelog
1.0.5:
Fixed large nodes (such as many gold and silver nodes) being
rearranged before anyone mined them, which could move deposits into
unused spots, including inside walls. Deposits now stay where the
game put them until you mine.
Fixed deposits on large nodes no longer moving, especially after
breaking several deposits with one swing.
Fixed deposits on gold and silver nodes becoming unbreakable on a
dedicated server.
Fixed deposits snapping back and becoming unbreakable after leaving
an area and returning (e.g. dying far away) on a dedicated server.
Server sends far fewer network updates for moved deposits.
Clearer debug log ("moved 1 full deposit into place").
1.0.4: Added enabled.txt to prevent need to modify the "mods" file.
1.0.3: Rune essence rocks are no longer affected (new Exclude setting).
1.0.2: Fixed one swing breaking two deposits leaving the mined spots empty. Replacements now come from outside swing reach, so both spots refill. Half-mined nodes rearrange once after updating.
1.0.1: Stays idle on players who joined someone else's server.
1.0.0: First release.
