The Harrower

Some things are better left buried. This one isn't staying there.

The Harrower is a standalone endgame boss mod for Minecraft Java 1.21.1, built for NeoForge. It introduces an enormous, stone-covered creature designed to challenge players who have already conquered the usual threats Minecraft has to offer.

Standing more than ten blocks tall, the Harrower is no ordinary boss. Its enormous body is a shifting mass of fractured stone and something far less recognizable beneath it. It doesn't simply hit hard. It grabs, crushes and ruptures the ground beneath your feet. Defeating it takes preparation, powerful equipment, and a willingness to discover exactly how much punishment your character can survive.

Summoning the Harrower

The Harrower does not spawn naturally.

To summon it, construct a Hollow Cairn using ten polished deepslate blocks arranged horizontally around a two-block opening. Find a Hollow Fragment while exploring, then throw it into the opening.

The stone turns black. Dozens of pale souls erupt upward. For a moment, everything falls silent. Then the Harrower arrives. Make sure you have room to fight. It won't wait for you to get comfortable.

Combat

The Harrower features a multi-phase encounter built around powerful melee attacks and devastating area effects. Its attacks include ground-shaking ruptures, crushing stomps, a terrifying grab, and The Hollowing, an ability that drains life while drawing pale souls toward its body. Its enormous size and aggressive behavior make positioning, movement, and preparation essential. The encounter is intended for well-equipped endgame players. Ordinary armor and weapons may not be enough.

Hollowforged Equipment

Defeating the Harrower rewards players with a Hollow Core, a rare crafting material used to create five pieces of Hollowforged equipment (see stats in the Gallery):

• Crown of the Hollow
  
• Carapace of the Unbroken                               
• Greaves of the Stillborn
• Treads of the World
• Worldshard, an enormous two-handed weapon

Each piece has its own abilities and distinctive visual effects. The equipment is crafted using the Hollow Core and other materials, rather than dropped directly by the boss.

Rewards

The Harrower drops a Hollow Core upon defeat, along with valuable vanilla Minecraft loot. Rewards can include enchanted Netherite equipment, Enchanted Golden Apples, Nether Stars, Elytra, Totems of Undying, and other high-value items.

The encounter is repeatable. Each summoning requires another Hollow Fragment, but the Hollow Cairn can be reused.

Compatibility

The Harrower is designed as a standalone mod and does not require installation of a larger modpack.
