A Cave-Overhaul mod that adds new biomes, tools, structures, items, and enhances QoL by adding small tweaks
Upgrade Underground is a lightweight Vanilla+ cave-overhaul mod designed to add more subterranian content. It introduces an new biome, essential underground survival items, deeper progression mechanics, and unique structures to discover while mining.
Lichen Garden
A frequent underground biome overflowing with life.
Lichen Vegetation: Lichen Sprouts, Tall Lichen Sprouts, and Lichen Mushrooms.
Lichen Wood: Chop down Lichen Trees to gather exclusive Lichen Wood and Lichen Leaves for building.
Glow Lichen Cap: A handy early-game helmet made from a Leather Helmet, a Lichen Mushroom, and 2 Lichen Sprouts. It provides 1 Armor and acts as a portable light source (Level 6 light in a 3x3x3 area).
Lichen Mushrooms: A new cave food source. Cook them to save yourself from eating rotten flesh! They smelt faster, though they provide low saturation.
Underground Structures
Keep your eyes open while exploring. You can now stumble upon new structures.
Lichen Hut: A small abandoned shelter containing starter loot. High chance to find Coal, Torches, Lichen Mushrooms, and even enchanted Enchanted Axes or Pickaxes.
Jellyshroom Caves
A Rarer Cave Biome.
Jelly Blocks
Jelly Block
Main filler block. Used for building, and crafting Polished Jelly Block.
Jello Stone
A stone block appearing in the Jelly Caves. Could be crafted with 2 stone blocks and 2 Jelly Blocks
Polished Jelly Block
Crafted with 4 Jelly Blocks. Really Slippery.
Jelly Bricks
another building block
Jelly Spike
Spawn in Jelly Caves. Slow you down when stepping on it.
Jelly Spire
Functions the same as Jelly Spikes.
