Upgrade Underground

Upgrade Underground is a lightweight Vanilla+ cave-overhaul mod designed to add more subterranian content. It introduces an new biome, essential underground survival items, deeper progression mechanics, and unique structures to discover while mining.

 

 

Lichen Garden

Lichen Vegetation: Lichen Sprouts, Tall Lichen Sprouts, and Lichen Mushrooms.

Lichen Wood: Chop down Lichen Trees to gather exclusive Lichen Wood and Lichen Leaves for building.

 

Glow Lichen Cap: A handy early-game helmet made from a Leather Helmet, a Lichen Mushroom, and 2 Lichen Sprouts. It provides 1 Armor and acts as a portable light source (Level 6 light in a 3x3x3 area).

Lichen Mushrooms: A new cave food source. Cook them to save yourself from eating rotten flesh! They smelt faster, though they provide low saturation.

Ink Bottle: Crafted with 1 Bottle and 1 Squid Ink. Throw it at players to inflict Blindness in a 4x4 radius.

Glow Ink Bottle: Crafted with 1 Bottle and 1 Glow Squid Ink. Throw it anywhere to create a temporary light source.

Ores & Materials Expansion

Anthracite: A rarer, deep-slate tier variant of normal coal. It takes longer to find but smelts 16 items per piece.

 

Underground Structures

- Abandoned Cave Camp: An abandoned camp that has a chance to generate exclusive loot

- Lichen Hut: A small abandoned shelter containing starter loot. High chance to find Coal, Torches, Anthracite, Lichen Mushrooms, and even enchanted Enchanted Axes or Pickaxes.

- Lost Supplements: A few chests and barrels laying around. Contain mid tier loot.
