⛺ Simply Tents: Universal Sample Resource Pack (GL4 & GL5)

This is a developer-ready template for the Simply Tents mod.

As the mod has transitioned through different versions of the GeckoLib animation engine, the required directory for 3D models has changed. This sample pack is pre-configured with a Dual-Path structure and a universal pack.mcmeta, ensuring your custom designs load perfectly regardless of which version of the mod a player is using.

📂 The Dual-Path Model System

Simply Tents looks for its .geo.json models in different locations depending on the GeckoLib version used by that specific Minecraft instance:

GeckoLib 4 (Minecraft 1.20.1 / 1.21.1): Models must be in assets/simplytents/geo/

GeckoLib 5 (Minecraft 1.21.11 / Neoforge 26.1.2+): Models must be in assets/simplytents/geckolib/

This pack includes both folders. To maintain full cross-version compatibility, simply save your custom models into both directories.

✨ What’s Inside?

Complete Model Templates: Includes geometry files for the Solo, Wall, Canopy, and Zip tents.

Note: Keep your base fabric textures white/gray! This allows the mod's dynamic dyeing system to overlay colors correctly in-game.

Universal pack.mcmeta: Pre-configured with supported_formats (15 to 84) so the pack loads seamlessly on versions 1.20.1 through 1.21+ without version warnings.

🛠️ Creator's Guide

Blockbench Editing: Open the provided .geo.json files in Blockbench using the GeckoLib plugin to modify the tent's shape or UV mapping.

Texture Painting: Edit the .png files in the textures directory. 

Installation: Place the ZIP or folder into your .minecraft/resourcepacks folder. Use F3 + T in-game to instantly reload and see your changes.

⚠️ Blockbench Export Tip

Because this pack supports both GeckoLib 4 and 5, you must export your models with the correct format version for each folder to prevent rendering errors:

For geo/ (1.20.1 / 1.21.1): When exporting your model, ensure your format version is set to 1.12.0.

For geckolib/ (1.21.11+): When exporting, ensure your format version is set to 1.21.0 or higher.
