Description
π What is it?
Vanilla first-person items are big. Swords, axes and shields cover a huge part of your screen, and when you are on fire the flames fill almost everything. PolarisLite PvP shrinks the items you hold and lowers the fire, so you can see your target and your surroundings.
It is a pure resource pack. It only changes how items sit in your hand, so it has no FPS cost, works with any shader (including PolarisLite Shaders), and does not change gameplay, hitboxes or reach in any way.
β¨ What changes
| Change | |
|---|---|
| βοΈ | Shorter swords: every sword, wooden to netherite and copper, is smaller and held lower and to the side |
| πͺ | Shorter axes: same treatment for all axes |
| π‘οΈ | Smaller shield: both the normal pose and the blocking pose take up less of your view |
| π₯ | Low fire: first-person flames stay along the bottom of your screen instead of covering it |
| π¨ | Mace, spears, trident and fishing rod are smaller too |
| π | PvP items such as golden apples (and enchanted ones), potions (drink, splash and lingering), ender pearls, totems, snowballs, eggs, wind charges, fire charges, cobweb, buckets and arrows sit smaller in your hand |
Only first-person is changed. Inventory icons, dropped items and how other players see you stay exactly as vanilla.
π Two sizes
Download the one you like. Both do the same things, just different amounts.
| Version | Weapons | Shield | Fire | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small | about 75% of vanilla size | about 70% of vanilla size | flames stay in the lower third | most players |
| Tiny | about 60% of vanilla size | about 60% of vanilla size | only a thin strip of flames | maximum visibility |
Sizes are approximate and compared with vanilla's first-person view.

π₯ Installation
- Download Small or Tiny (the ZIP file).
- Put the ZIP, without unzipping it, in
.minecraft/resourcepacks. - In game, open Options → Resource Packs and move the pack to the right (active) side.
- Place it above other resource packs if you use any, so its item changes are not overridden.
β Compatibility
| Status | |
|---|---|
| Minecraft | 26.1 and 26.2 (Java Edition) |
| Shaders | Works with any shader pack |
| Other resource packs | Works, but keep this pack above any pack that changes the same item models |
| Servers | Client-side only, so it is fine on any server |
| Mods | Mods or packs that replace item models (such as custom model mods) may override it |
β οΈ Known limits
- Hand positions are tuned by eye. If an item sits too high, too low or too far to the side for you, the numbers in the model files are easy to change, and feedback helps.
- Bows and crossbows are not changed, because their models switch while drawing and changing them could break the animation.
- Pickaxes, shovels and hoes are not changed, since this pack focuses on PvP items.
- Resource packs that already edit these items may clash with this one.
Found something odd? Please tell me your Minecraft version, which size you use and what item looks wrong, and add a screenshot if you can.
π License and credits
- Free to use, including in videos. Credit is appreciated but not required.
- Made to pair well with PolarisLite Shaders.
- Based on the item models from the vanilla game. The fire texture is original.
