Space Between Blocks Resource Pack
The Space Between Blocks Resource Pack is the official visual companion for the Space Between Blocks DAI MAIN experience.
It provides the project's custom field equipment, survival provisions, alien materials, and authored structure-recognition assets while remaining synchronized with the gameplay Data Pack through DAI's companion system.
Imperial Field MultiTool
The centerpiece of the equipment set is the Imperial Field MultiTool.
The MultiTool contains three physical configurations:
Each mode has its own dedicated model and texture.
The pack also includes the complete rotary transformation sequence used when the player switches heads.
Separate visual frames create the appearance of the tool's barrel mechanically rotating before locking into its next configuration.
MultiTool Materials
The tool uses a layered industrial palette including:
- Dark structural material
- Metallic surfaces
- Bright edge treatment
- Orange detailing
- Purple detailing
The design is intended to read as field-issued science-fiction hardware while remaining compatible with Minecraft's item presentation.
Field Provisions
The Resource Pack includes custom presentation for the Space Between Blocks survival-food system.
Food Parcel
A compact sealed Imperial field provision.
Food Ration
A higher-density expedition meal.
Food Feast
A placeable communal meal with multiple serving states.
The Feast includes dedicated:
- Metal housing
- Rim
- Soup surface
Its model changes as servings are consumed.
Aurod Materials
The pack includes authored environmental textures used to distinguish Aurod's alien plant resources from ordinary Minecraft terrain.
These include specialized Vinewood-related material replacements used by the planetary environment.
Ship Recognition Assets
Space Between Blocks also contains DAI recognition definitions for the modular ship architecture used throughout the experience.
Recognized ship components include:
- Core
- Corridor
- Transverse Corridor
- Drop Bay
- Engineering
- Cargo
These assets support DAI's authored ship/module systems while the Data Pack handles their physical construction and gameplay.
Vanilla-Safe Item Routing
Custom equipment is routed through modern Custom Model Data item definitions.
Normal vanilla:
- Iron Axes
- Iron Pickaxes
- Iron Shovels
- Paper
- Cake
retain vanilla fallback models when they are not carrying Space Between Blocks custom data.
DAI Companion Integration
The Resource Pack uses the stable companion identity:
dai_space_experience
DAI can automatically associate and enable it with the matching Space Between Blocks MAIN experience.
v0.2.0 is synchronized with the first public DAI 3.3 Data Pack release.
