This resource pack works for minecraft versions 1.19.3 and below down to version 1.8.9.
This resource pack requires Optifine OR Fabric with the mods listed in the spoiler below to work.
Note: using this resource pack with Fabric can cause some very minor bugs in the wolf models.

Mods needed to make the Better Wolves resource pack work with Fabric/Sodium are listed below. All mods go in the minecraft mods folder.

Wild wolves are updated to look more realistic. Wild wolves have 5 texture variations.
This wolf model is part of the Better Dogs resource pack.

Can this work with All of Fabric 6 or All the Mods?
i love these textures, but there is a little issue - they don't seem to be combatiable with Ars Noveau mod. there is a spell that summons wolves, and those summoned wolves have no textures at all, only a few weird lines are floating in the air. the normal minecraft wolves work fine though. is that possible to fix that?
I realized using Xaero;s Minimap and having select settings tends to break wolves, causing their heads to float. From what I can tell, having their icons shown on the minimap tends to do it, and is only with the wolves. I am not sure what it is going on with that, but I know it never used to do that. I guess if anyone else using the minimap mod, it is something to be aware of if anyone using the mod runs into this.

do you know if any mods break your texture pack im using it and it seems that when i run mods and hit tab the wolves heads get removed from their body and float mid air. pretty weird when it happens

you have to make sure this texture pack is above all the others, if you are using another texture pack that has randomized wolf models you will have to delete the wolf texture for that pack in it's files (click here for a better explanation).
doesn't work on 1.18.2, i see only a badly 2d texture stretch out

Yes thanks, I fixed it by activate optifine model support on the settings of CEM mod
Hi! I was just curious but if I may ask, have you considered adding more wolf textures with more colors? there's just so many dogs but only five wolves.
Ofc you def dont have to! But if you did it would be heckin cool
But some ideas if you want, def dont have to do any or all of them;
Rusty Red
Red on Brown
Black and Silver
White and Black
Gold with brown
Blonde
Blue-Gray and Cream
Pure Brown with Dark Brown
Toasted Marshmallow (Ie white with a golden brown and a bit darker brown)
Tan and Red

for some reason, this pack does not work but your others (including dogs)do? when I try to use this instead of dogs, the models are all bright pink and black. I don't suppose you might know why/how to fix?
Are you using optifine or fabric?

Fabric. I'm also using your other better animals since they just look so good, so I'm not sure why just the wolves instead of dogs doesn't work.
I fixed it, uploading the fixed version now.

im running optifine 1.18 and the pack doesnt seem to work, and when i move it to the active list it says its made for an older version of minecraft, someone please help :( the wolves look all glitched
