PrimeCinematic

A cinematic Iris shaderpack written from scratch for Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3: a real sun and moon, its own clouds, water that reads from a distance, glowing leaves and TAA, with a default preset that runs faster than the old one.

What's new

PrimeCinematic 2.0.0 - works on Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3

NEW
- Sky: deeper daytime blue, warm-to-violet sunsets, a real round sun with a
soft corona (no more blocky square), a moon that follows its phases.
- Clouds: the pack's own soft, sunlit clouds that change from day to day and
close in when it rains. Atmosphere > Clouds: Off / Vanilla / Fast / Fancy.
- Water: depth-based colour (lakes read from a distance), refraction through
the ripples, moving caustics on sunlit lake beds, and reflections of the
trees and hills around it (Cinematic and up). New Water screen.
- Foliage glow: leaves and grass light up when the sun is behind them.
- Temporal anti-aliasing (TAA) with a Sharpening slider.
- Auto exposure: caves open up gently, snow doesn't blow out.
- Border fog at the edge of render distance; readable nights; softer rain.
- Dimension fog: the Nether, the End, boss fights and modded dimensions get
the fog colour and distance they ask for.
- New LOW preset.

FASTER
- Entities cast shadows only within a quarter of the shadow distance: the
shadow pass does half the CPU work.
- The default preset is faster than before: 2.0 Balanced runs ~16% more FPS
than 1.x Balanced at 1080p in our tests (same GPU time at 4K) with almost
every new feature on. Ambient occlusion, water reflections and 176-block
soft shadows moved to Cinematic, the full look.

FIXED
- Stars near the horizon were stretched into long streaks.
- In the Nether, beyond the terrain, a bright salmon-pink wall showed instead
of the dark fog vanilla draws there.
- The sun's glint on water spread into a blown-out white sheet; it is now a
  tight, moving sparkle.
- Hitting a mob or another player showed no red flash, and creepers did not
flash white before exploding. Both show again.
- Underwater, looking up turned the screen flat, saturated blue. The surface
now shows the sky in a bright circle overhead, the way real water does,
with the shore faint beyond it. How far you see follows the game's own
underwater vision and clears as your eyes adjust.
- Water in the End reflected the Overworld's sky and sun.
- Contrast below 1.0 did nothing.
- A fast turn could briefly smear unrelated parts of the picture.

26.3 NOTE
Iris does not run on 26.3's experimental Vulkan renderer. If it says so,
accept its offer to switch, or set Video Settings > Graphics API to
"Default" or "Prefer OpenGL" and restart.
