Description
Look at an eclipse and close your eyes — the light stays. This pack is that light.
You know that Minecraft evening where the sun is almost down, the fog is coming up off the water, and you stop walking just to look? Afterimage is built to make that happen to you on purpose.
An original Iris shaderpack — every line written from scratch — made for the horror mod She Remembers, and just as at home in a world she's never set foot in.
The Overworld learns to breathe
A tree casts a tree — soft at the crown, sharp at the trunk, stretching with the hour. Morning mist stands heavy in the valleys and burns off as the sun climbs. Clouds have a lit side and a dark side, and the shadow you are standing in belongs to the cloud you can see. Wind crosses a wheat field as a gust, not a shiver. Rain leaves the ground dark and slick. And when you step out of a lit cabin into the night, you are blind for a few honest seconds — which is a long time, outdoors, in this mod.
The End gets a sky worth dying under
A starfield in three magnitudes. A Milky Way with a dark rift of dust cut down its middle. And hanging over it all — a black hole, twelve degrees across, with an Einstein ring and an accretion disc bent over the top of its shadow. None of it lights the ground. It is just up there, being enormous, while you fight for your life.
The Nether finally makes sense
Lava lights the rock beside it — with direction, so a shore reads as stone catching light, not a stain. Soul fire is actually blue. Glowstone is warm, shroomlight is its own colour, magma blocks glow like embers. Each biome's ground carries its own colour, and the dark between the lights is dark you can still read. Every change has a dial, and every dial is labelled with which end is the old behaviour.
And if you play She Remembers
Her Forgotten Forest gets a light no other dimension shares — dead air with its own idea of what daylight is. The grade even answers, faintly, to how things stand between the two of you. You will not notice. That is the point.
Setup
| Minecraft | 26.1.2 on NeoForge |
| Iris | 1.11.3 |
| Sodium | 0.9.1 |
Iris 1.11.3 accepts any Sodium from 0.6 up, so there is no magic version pair to hunt for — the one rule is to take the build of each that is labelled for Minecraft 26.1.2.
Drop the zip in .minecraft/shaderpacks/, then Options → Video Settings → Shader Packs,
pick it, Done. (She Remembers players: the mod offers a one-click install in chat — this page
just runs newer.)
Original, top to bottom. Nothing here was copied or re-graded from another pack;
THIRD_PARTY.md inside the zip maps every technique to the published paper it implements.
MIT licensed — use it, learn from it, fork it. If something looks wrong on your machine, every
dial is in Shader Options, and I would genuinely like to hear about it.
