With Ultimatum, I made the interesting choice of rejecting minecraft’s basic gameplay loop in favor of mimicking what I wanted surviving in the world of The Last of Us to feel like. Ever since the first game, I loved the warm tones, the quiet, peaceful overgrown world that appeared between each near-death experience and led us to the next. I wanted to perfect the balance between scarcity and starvation and bring back the classic fungal threat. Now I think that it’s ready to be presented to you! I tried to respect the mechanics of TLOU as well, choosing mainly to rely on looting as a primary source of supplies vs going out and mining them yourself. That said, that remains an option if that’s your style.

Explore to find structures and maybe even other survivors. You can find abandoned camps as well as thriving survivor camps with complete defenses- either way, keep an eye out for a shortwave radio, as you can use them to start your own community!

In Ultimatum, temperature, thirst, hunger, and health are all precious and expensive resources at any stage. Stockpile food for the winter and make sure your people stay warm and fed! Use ParCool to navigate the world in ways that make it so much more convenient and a ton more engaging. Cling to ledges, climb up from them, prone through small openings, and so much more!

With Fungal Infection: Spore, you have to manage the spread of the spores as well as your community. Keep your gas mask handy as you build, break, fight, or blast your way to safety and stop the spread of the fungus.
Graphically, this modpack is meant to be dialled to 11! Use Ray-Traced Ambient Occlusion, Volumetric clouds and fog, all possible thanks to bliss shaders that are compatible with Distant Horizons. Because these shaders are not available on Curseforge, however, you need to download and configure this yourself (if you can run it). Be warned, however that there are some issues with magnified scopes in vic's that break the shaders. You can just reload them to fix them.
I still have so much to learn about making modpacks so I hope you can enjoy what's here and if you have any suggestions or run into any problems, please let me know!
Now I have a discord, for suggestions or help with anything related to the pack or its mods!
