Description
Tapestry — Exploration-first modpack for vanilla-savvy newcomers (exactly 100 mods)
Tapestry is a curated, exploration-focused pack built to onboard players who know vanilla but have never used a modpack: it uses exactly 100 mods across worldgen, exploration, tech, magic, colonies, QoL, and performance so you can master a small, coherent toolkit and smoothly graduate to larger packs.
Due to certain special reasons, the Effective mod in version 1.1 was blocked, resulting in only 99 mods actually loading. We have now replaced Effective with Particular, please download the latest version.
What makes it different
- Perfect “first modpack” size: Exactly 100 hand-picked mods—big enough to feel fresh, small enough to learn fast.
- Exploration first: New biomes, structures, caves, weather, and dimensions that reward travel and discovery.
- Learn core systems, not clutter: A compact set of tech/magic/storage tools chosen for clarity and synergy.
- Performance-friendly: Ships with modern optimization mods and sensible defaults; optional shaders supported.
Feature highlights (curated examples)
- Worldgen & Atmosphere: Biomes O’ Plenty, Terralith, Tectonic, Weather2, Visuality
- Exploration & Dimensions: The Aether, Twilight Forest, Alex’s Caves, Ad Astra

These are representative categories, not a raw dump list. Tapestry’s goal is teaching by doing without overwhelming you.
Who this pack is for
- You’re comfortable with vanilla and want a guided first step into modded.
- You prefer exploration, light quest-free discovery, and systems you can learn in an evening.
- You want a foundation that bridges to large, complex packs later.
To reiterate, Tapestry only adds to vanilla a selection of the most popular and beginner appropriate mods based on the author’s and friends’ play experience, and it does not include any quest guidance system, achievement system, or custom UI. Therefore, this pack is intended mainly for players who have finished vanilla but have never used a modpack, and it helps them get started quickly and become familiar with several popular mods.
