Valemetry: Resource Trading & Economy

Your surplus. Your next build.

Valemetry is a standalone resource trading, economy and stock market mod for Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge. Sell spare items for money, unlock materials for future purchases, automate surplus sales, and manage your funds through customizable sci-fi trading terminals.

Build your own economy in single-player or share one with friends. Personal wallets, team funds, integrated crafting and smelting, and an offline stock market bring several useful activities into one interface.

Why Valemetry?

ProjectE makes resource exchange convenient, but passive EMC generation and powerful equipment can reduce the importance of mining, gathering and planning. Its trading rules also leave limited room for adjustment, while unpriced items from other mods can mean more manual configuration.

I gathered and reviewed feedback and suggestions from players who enjoy ProjectE, focusing on the conveniences they valued and the improvements they wanted. Those ideas helped shape Valemetry’s own approach: practical item trading, useful terminal tools, configurable economic rules and a modern interface, without passive currency generators or overpowered equipment.

Valemetry was developed independently from scratch, with its own code, items, interface, save system and pricing system. ProjectE is not required.

Core features in 1.1.0

Buy and sell items through trading terminals

Place a Trade Console in your base or carry a Trade Link on your adventures. Both devices share your personal wallet and unlocked item catalog.

Sell a priced item once to unlock future purchases. You still need to obtain an item before you can buy it. Purchase individual items, full stacks or a custom quantity, with the price and payment wallet shown before you confirm.

Craft and smelt without closing the market

Install crafting and furnace upgrades to work directly inside the terminal. Optional JEI integration transfers ingredients you already own; it does not automatically buy missing materials.

Automate sales from farms and production lines

Upgrade a fixed Trade Console to accept items from hoppers or compatible item pipes. Automatic sales follow your economic rules. When an item cannot be sold or a trading limit has been reached, it remains upstream.

Configure your world’s economy

Set different buying and selling prices, limit daily trade counts or amounts, and adjust transaction duration. Override individual item prices or exclude items from trading.

Keep resource exchange convenient or introduce additional constraints to suit your progression.

Manage personal savings and shared team funds

Keep your personal wallet while contributing to a separate team wallet. Transfer money to other players and pool funds for shared projects.

Team members share access to team funds. Joining a team does not automatically merge your personal balance or item unlocks.

Trade in an offline simulated stock market

Open a personal brokerage account and fund it from your personal wallet to trade 30 fictional stocks.

Use market orders to buy by amount or share quantity, including fractional shares. Follow prices with line and candlestick charts, review your portfolio, and track transactions.

The market is simulated within your world. It uses neither real-world financial data nor real money.

Customize your sci-fi trading interface

Choose from ten color themes, select custom colors, adjust interface opacity or import a background image.

Search your item catalog by name or item ID, and sort it by unlock order, price or personal trading activity. The interface supports English and Simplified Chinese, with native pinyin search in Simplified Chinese.

Reduce manual item pricing

Built-in item values propagate through supported crafting and processing recipes when their ingredients have prices.

This can reduce manual setup for items added by other mods. Unsupported recipes and unpriced materials may still require manual configuration.

Flexible rules for different playstyles

Valemetry gives players and server owners tools to manage resource exchange without prescribing one ideal economy.

Large modpacks can introduce unexpected resource loops. Sell returns, trading limits, transaction times, manual prices and item exclusions provide ways to control those situations; they are not a promise that every possible money-making exploit has been eliminated.
