Super Hostile Modpack

The official modpack for the Super Hostile series by Vechs. A tough but (mostly) fair modpack inspired by table-top RPGs.

The "Vechs Made his first MC mod ever and it's very smol" Update

MOD ADDED: Super Hostile Tokens. A simple mod that I made myself that adds tokens to the game. Infernal Mobs and Spawner Control let you specify drops, but their config files cannot seem to handle NBT metadata. For instance, you can't get FTB Quests Loot Crates to drop from Infernal Mobs or from Spawners. So, I made my own token pack so that I can use the tokens as a middle-man to be dropped from spawners and mobs and then turned in for Loot Crates using the FTB Quest system.

MOD ADDED: Armor Curve
- This mod lets me reach into the guts of Minecraft and change the armor formula. Before this mod, with the high HP pools of characters (both players and monsters) gating high HP behind 80% damage resistance (10 full armor shirts on your meter) would result in absolute slogs of fights. Obtaining protection on said diamond armor, or upgrading to armors past diamond would break the game and make either you or the monster practically invulnerable.

Using this mod, I've worked with the curve so that the game feels much better. Check the Starting Armor quest in Survival Basics for detailed numbers of what to expect.

Hopefully high-end players won't feel like they must use Warhammers with the armor penetration trait to accomplish things against monsters now, and low-tier enemies can actually do a little damage to players in diamond armor and up.

Finally, the amount armor protects goes down as it takes damage, so a pair of boots that have 20 percent durability left will be much worse than a pair with 90 percent.

MOD ADDED: Entity Culling
- Your computer won't render entities that you aren't looking at, potentially radically increasing the FPS you get in my modpack.

QUALITY TOOLS: Poor quality is now less common, and doens't lower stats as much. (Weight has gone down, which means other qualitys are more common.) Boots go up to Epic without Step Height.

FTB Quests: Rebalanced some items in the quest system, and fiddled with various quests. The final 3 Uniques (Eyeglass, Knuckle, and Rope) are a bit more expensive but are also more powerful. Added new quests.

INFERNALS: Changed Infernal mobs (aka Bubbly Fubblies) and Mob Spawners to drop Super Hostile Tokens. Your inventory will thanks me :)
- Infernals now slightly less common.

- Infernals modifier changes:
Gravity -> false
1 Up -> false
Choke -> false
Ender -> true
Vengeance -> true

Infernals can now only blast you straight up, so ledge walkers can breath easy. And, actually, breath, because Choke is gone. In an effort to make combat faster with the armor changes, mobs also lost access to 1UP so you don't have to kill very powerful infernals TWICE (or Wraughtnauts for that matter). Vengeance is on because the poor Infernals need something, and maybe giving them Ender will give them some scary mobility to get up to your ledge. Surely them moving around is less rage-inducing than them moving YOU around, right?

RESKILLABLE: Added new skill requirements for some stuff and things. Move diamond-and-up gear higher to make room in the skill tree.

RECIPES:
- Diamond Helm, Chest, and Leggings now take 1 astral diamond each. Infernal loot crates can drop astral shards or astral diamonds, making them accessable even after a world has been mined out and all spawners broken. (The farming bundles already had this covered, but not everybody plays Stardew Valley in Super Hostile.)
- Added "Steel" armor
- Added stuff and things
- Added cool stuff for HostileDew Valley players, like my wife :)
