There are plenty of options for automation and storage. Main two mods for storage are Applied Energistics 2 and Refined Storage. Both are similar in that they create storage network using cards that store all your items and you can access all of the items in the network from terminal attached to the network. RS is the beginners choice, whereas AE2 requires more planning when building the network.
To simply move items from point to point, use Thermal Expansion Itemducts, Extra Utilities 2 Transfer Nodes, Actually Additions Item Lasers or Xnet cables.
Create complex Redstone circuits with Integrated Dynamics to automate machines and other blocks.
Adventure into magical woods of The Twilight Forest. Secure buildings in the Lost Cities. Become a Vampire hunter, fight the barons in vampire forests and save villages from vampire attacks or if you don't like the sun, become a vampire yourself and fight the hunters, sleep at day and learn spells.
You can also start your own colony and make it prosper. Have miners, builders, farmers, lumberjacks, fishers, guards and bakers in your colony, but select the citizens with right traits for right job.
