Welcome to your new job at the Star Factory! Here in the endless oblivion of the void, you will be tasked with the harrowing ordeal of creating entire stars from scratch!
This modpack revolves around very few mods. The most notable ones being Astral Sorcery and Extra Utilities 2. You start with infinite wells of four resources, and you must progress using a progression system based around what resources are available to you. Eventually, with enough automation, you will be able to craft the ultimate goal, stars.
If Arcane Archives's blocks cause your game to crash, it is likely because you are using tLauncher or another cracked client of the game! Please stop putting this crash in the comments.
A friend and I really enjoy this mod pack, HOWEVER, we have hit a wall, there seems to be no way to get coal or stone.
I found the solution: Put charcoal blocks near the crystal, then link them to the crystal using the linking tool. it'll take a while though :/
In reply to Unriddles:
If you still have problems getting stone then combine redstone and ice to get netherrack then use that in the lightwell to get lava.
I tried running a server (on oracle cloud) and it says "we are missing one or more assential libraries", can someone help?
Is there an easier way to get obsidian other than infusing magma or water on a lava source? both are incredibly slow and hard to automate
When I used the modpack with my server, the regular world isn't the one that loaded in, could you add the world download for it here?
In reply to realrage_gaming:
sorry for being 5 months late but you can create a new world then copy the world file over onto the server
anyone have a server with this modpack that is public?
In reply to fgkkkkk:
good question. I'm assuming that you haven't done a quick google search on the topic, so you have resorted here?
I'm having an issue where certain mods(CT-GUI, Craft Tweaker, Craft Tweaker Support for JEI) are causing the game to not start. I would really appreciate if anyone could help with that! Full log; https://paste.dimdev.org/ebiqaruzaf.mccrash
Edit: If anyone sees this in the vast ether of the Internet, I use ATLauncher on Ubuntu to launch my mods. Thanks in advance!
Really enjoyable pack! I liked the focus on Astral Sorcery (I've never gotten into it before) and I liked that it was short enough to actually be finished before I got bored like so many big packs.
In reply to eriisa:
Thank you! I rather enjoy shorter packs myself for this very reason, so I decided to make my own. I'm glad you enjoyed your time, I know I enjoyed making it!
Hey I want to put this pack on a server but when i download the Server files they aren't complet.
In Server files of other packs there are install, settings and ServerStart files all three of them both as .sh and .bat types.
they are missing in this packs server files.
In reply to flobaba:
Thanks for pointing this out! I'm still not used to making server files for modpacks, so it's nice to have an idea of what I need to do. Unfortunately, I have moved on to other projects, but if you still need help setting up a server, I can help you get one working!
In reply to ThePunCrafter:
Would be nice as i haven't yet figured out a way around the installer file. Starting the server is not a problem when the needed Libraries are installed
In reply to flobaba:
did you get this worked out? I've been having issues as well.
In reply to Jake3D:
Not yet, i've tried using the installer and settings files from stoneblock 2 and edited the settings file because stoneblock has a different forge version. but that didn't work.
any other ideas?
In reply to flobaba:
OK I did eventually get it to work. I was worried about trying server settings from a different pack but after seeing you did I decided to give it a go.
***This does update forge from forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2847-universal to forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2855***
I do not know if this has any ill effects, but it does seem to work for me in the 30 minutes I tested before making this guide.
Here are the steps that worked for me:
-Download the Star Factory Server Zip and unzip it. (On the desktop is fine)
-Download the server zip for volcano block. https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/volcano-block/files
-In the Star Factory folder open the maps folder and copy the folder called "The Endless Expanse" to the Main folder (Star Factory 1.1.0 Server)
-In the main folder rename The Endless Expanse to "world".
-From the volcano block zip there are 4 Files to copy to the Star Factory directory.
1. "forge-1.12.2-14.23.5.2855-installer.jar"
2. "ServerStart.bat"
3. "ServerStart.sh"
4. "settings.cfg"
-(some of these files may not be necessary they are just what I copied.)
-Optional: Open "settings.cfg" in Notepad++ (or any notepad program) and change line 23 to "MODPACK_NAME=Star Factory". This changes the server description. If you skip this step you can do this later. steps posted at the bottom.
-Next run "ServerStart.bat". (If you didn't change settings.cfg it will run as volcano block but will work just fine.)
-It will create an eula.txt file in the Star Factory directory. Open it and change the line eula=false to "eula=true" and press any key to continue on the server window.
-After its done loading one of the last few lines will say something like "[Server thread/INFO] [FML]: Unloading dimension 1"
-At this point you are done with server setup. It will run from ServerStart.bat, however, it should be instead run from server.jar which will now work. I recommend closing the initial server installation and starting server.jar/
-Then all that's left is in Minecraft Star Factory add a server with the IP address of the computer hosting it.
Optional Step
-If you skipped changing the description you can do this by opening "server.properties" in notepad and change the last line from motd=Volcano Block to motd=Star Factory (or what ever you'd like for the server description.)
-Edit-
I was able to fix the Icon by resizing it to 64x64 naming it "server-icon.png" and placing it in the main directory of star factory.
Also there seems to be no difference between "minecraft_server.1.12.2.jar" and "server.jar" so either work just fine when starting the server.
Also if you have any question about my process let me know. Any issues with the mod pack contact the dev.
In reply to Jake3D:
Thank you that worked.
Although i had to copy the world twice as the first was not complete.
But just to clarify when the server is running on a windows system you need the "ServerStart.bat" file and if you are using a linux version you need the "ServerStart.sh" file.
Now it should work we'll see once i'am done with the other modpack.
In reply to Jake3D:
I'm having troubles recreating what you did can you help me?
EDIT: i figured it out, and you might want to copy and paste a single player copy of the world on top of what they said above
I've got a bug where the mechanical miners will only mine one block when I log in and then sit idle from then on no matter what I do
