"As you may know, the monsters of the Nether have stolen our precious Valkyrie Metal, and they have attempted to seal themselves off from all the other planes of existence! You have always been one of the more creative among us, I trust that you will find your way."

Overview

Welcome to Divine Descent, an RPG modpack for 1.12.2 that aims to solve the various problems that I have with other RPG modpacks. Having spent ~2 years in development (including a couple breaks), you can expect the modpack to be extremely polished and detailed. Here are some of the main features, also listed in the images tab:

• Make your way down. Progression is vertical! Make your way down through five different worlds full of content.
• Go at your own pace! There’s no progression clocks or timed events to worry about, as progression is based on which dimension you’re in.
• An exciting blend of old and new. Plenty of structures and mobs that you just might recognize, twisted and thrown into completely new scenarios.
• Nothing but adventure! None of that bulky magic or technology to slow you down, just get out there and explore! In another key component of keeping gameplay simple simple, many grindy processes are simplified.
• Don’t live to eat, eat to live! Having to take food breaks while exploring only slows you down. Instead, food will heal you directly.
• Keep your stuff, at a price! Losing your items thousands of blocks away from home sucks. You'll keep your items, but they’ll be jumbled when you respawn. (this can be toggled)
  
• Light reading. Some folks like detailed guidance, while others like question. Pick the guidebook that helps you.
  
• Equipment matters! Without classes or skill trees, your playstyle is influenced by your equipment. Experiment with a wide variety of weapons and armors to discover powerful combinations.
• Magic like never before! Through heavily reworked mods, experience magic through a system based on effects and synergies.
• Many other reworks! To keep the modded veteran on their toes, other miscellaneous mods have had their items tweaked, to give them new functionality and context.
