a world with no rules

POUDEWCRAFT

A cozy, laid-back 1.21.1 modpack about taming animals, building a home, and taking your time.

Poudewcraft is built around a simple idea: Minecraft is more fun when you're not in a hurry. There's no tech tree to climb and no boss waiting at the end. Instead there's a world worth walking through, a farm worth tending, and a growing collection of creatures who live somewhere you built for them.

Designed for solo play or a small group of friends.

Build a Zoo

Alex's Mobs, Naturalist, Friends&Foes, Tameable Foxes, Animal Feeding Trough, Carry On

Over a hundred new creatures live across the world, and a great many of them can be tamed. Gorillas in jungles, bears in forests, exotic birds, and creatures you'll only find by going somewhere strange.

What this changes: taming stops being a means to an end and becomes the point. Carry On lets you pick animals up and walk them home instead of dragging them on a lead for twenty minutes, and the Feeding Trough means a full enclosure feeds itself while you're away. Just Enough Breeding shows you exactly what each species eats, right in the recipe browser — so finding a new animal is exploration, not a wiki tab.

Cook Everything

Farmer's Delight + 10 addons, Croptopia, Aquaculture 2

Well over a hundred crops grow across different biomes, and almost all of them go somewhere. Cooking pots, skillets, cutting boards, and placeable feast blocks that serve multiple portions.

What this changes: food becomes a system instead of a stat bar. Cooked meals grant lasting Nourishment, so a real kitchen is worth building. Rice needs flooded terraces, fruit trees need the right climate, and Rich Soil rewards composting the scraps. Right Click Harvest means you never break a crop to harvest it — sweep down a row and it replants itself.

Build Something Worth Living In

Macaw's full suite (14 mods), Supplementaries, Chipped, Rechiseled, Every Compat, Stone Zone, Gems Realm, Diagonal Blocks

Roofs that pitch. Windows with shutters. Furniture, lamps, bridges, paths, and paved roads. Every Compat generates all of it across every wood type in the pack, and Stone Zone does the same for stone.

What this changes: your palette goes from a handful of vanilla blocks to tens of thousands of variants. Diagonal Blocks finally lets you build at 45° without staircasing. The first house you build will embarrass you within a week — and you'll have the blocks to do better.

Go Somewhere You've Never Been

Terralith, Biomes O' Plenty, Oh The Biomes We've Gone, Oh The Trees You'll Grow

Hundreds of biomes replace the vanilla overworld. Sakura groves, floating skylands, alpine ridges, and coastlines that don't look like anything Mojang shipped.

What this changes: walking somewhere becomes worth doing for its own sake. Traveler's Titles announces each new biome as you cross into it, and Nature's Compass lets you search for one by name when you're hunting a specific crop or creature.

Find Things Built By Someone Else

When Dungeons Arise (+ Seven Seas), YUNG's full suite, Towns and Towers, Dungeons and Taverns, Repurposed Structures, Lootintegrations

Enormous hand-built structures, rebuilt vanilla dungeons, new village architecture, taverns, and ships still crewed by their occupants.

What this changes: every vanilla structure you know has been redesigned, and loot tables have been rewritten so opening a chest is actually worth the trip. Explorer's Compass finds any structure by name.

Below, Beyond, and Elsewhere

YUNG's Better Caves, YUNG's Cave Biomes, Incendium, Nullscape

Caves are their own biomes with their own stone and light. The Nether has geography. The End is vast, quiet, and largely empty.

Quality of Life, Everywhere

JEI, Jade, Waystones, Xaero's Minimap & World Map, Sophisticated Storage, Storage Drawers, Traveler's Backpack, Gravestone, Torchmaster, Construction Wands, Only Hammers And Excavators, Controlling

What this changes: the tedious parts are gone. Waystones link automatically and show on your map. Gravestones mean death costs you a walk, not your inventory. Megatorches stop mobs spawning near your base so you can build at night. Hammers break 3×3 and wands extend whole surfaces — because a building pack shouldn't make you place blocks one at a time.

Guided, Not Railroaded

FTB Quests

A custom questbook across eight chapters — survival basics, the zoo, farming, building, exploration, caves, the Nether, and the End.

What this changes: the quests point you at things you'd otherwise miss and suggest what to do next, without ever requiring it. Most are optional. Several are simply "build something nice, then tick the box."

Runs Well and Looks Good

Sodium, Iris, Lithium, FerriteCore, ModernFix, AmbientSounds, Sound Physics Remastered

Full shader support via Iris. Layered ambient audio per biome and real reverb in caves. 8GB recommended.

Who this is for

If you want a boss ladder, a tech tree, or a challenge, this isn't it.

If you want to spend an evening deciding where the fence goes, walk three thousand blocks because the mountains looked interesting, and end up with a gorilla living in a pen you're quietly proud of — that's exactly what this is.
