PARANOID: Beyond Sanity
v1.2.2.1r
Brief Summary
Think of it as Forsaken Wilds, but more terrifying. This modpack features more biomes, dimensions, entities, and structures to give you an even more intense feeling of being watched. This modpack is designed to scare the living 💩 out of you, with entities that seem very unsettling. Some of the entities are from my modpack, Forsaken Wilds, but this modpack includes tons of scary mods that include entities that you may have never seen from my modpacks.
See below for people who fear spiders:
Warning: This modpack does include a spider mod. If you have an intense fear of spiders (arachnophobia) or other arachnids, play at your risk. I am not responsible for people who may have serious health conditions that result in a negative outcome(s). Please play at your own risk. If you're willing to face your fears, go for it! No one ain't stoppin' ya, just want to throw that out there, as I care for people. :D
Side note: Mods can be turned off. So if you really don't want to play this modpack with spiders, you can turn off "Arthropod Phobia Expansions + Horror Bosses (Spiders, Arachnophobia)" by going to Profile Options and then toggle "Allow content management for this modpack". This allows you to enable or disable mods.
Intro
The world was peaceful. People built villages, structures, homes, and cities. The wildlife was great, featuring beautiful animals and an amazing sunset that glowed on the horizon, illuminating the beauty of the Earth.
That didn't last for so long, and it changed when the corruption emerged. People became possessed, corrupted, and strange... They weren't no ordinary people anymore, they became the icon of true horror. And then, rituals were done, and more corrupted and distored entities emerged that haunt, hunt, and ruin what was once a peaceful planet. There is no peace anymore.
You're now one of the few people remaining on Earth who is not cursed. The only issue is that you're paranoid due to the uneasy presence that now covers this planet. You have to watch your sanity. You have to watch your temperature. Are you seeing things? Are you overthinking? Are you paranoid? Are you okay?
Face your fears in this modpack, PARANOID: Beyond Sanity. Uncover what now lurks on the planet Earth that was once at peace. Do you have the sanity to face your fears? Do you have what it takes to survive? Do you have what it takes to uncover the secrets hidden in the deep corruption? Or will you be a string puppet that the horror now controls?
Enter with caution. Respect the nature that still remains.
Disclaimers and Notes
Feedback is kindly needed & appreciated!
This is a fresh new modpack that I just made not too long ago, and started working on since the 15th of November, 2025. Mods may be added, changed, or removed occasionally with each update.
This is hardcore.
You may spawn in a difficult terrain and/or entities already attacking you. Some may say this is a feature, not a bug. But I plan on fixing this as soon as I can.
All mods in this modpack are credited to the original authors.
Every mod in this modpack (and my other modpacks) is not mine, nor do I claim to have developed the mods. The term modpack is just a pack of mods that is available, and is often allowed for people to include in their modpacks. This modpack was created using existing mods developed by their original authors. I don't create or modify the mods themselves; I develop the modpack experience by combining and configuring them to create something new. I'm more of a curator and a developer.
Known Issues
- Sheep's texture is not being rendered properly due to Fresh Animation's trying to add texture features that is not supported with the default model.
- PC drops FPS when approaching busy villages. This is normal since there is a lot of entities' pathfinding and ticking. Just something to know if you're wondering "Why is my PC lagging?!" The same thing goes for entering certain biomes.
- Some mods don't behave as they should. Sometimes they'll spawn rarely or too often, sometimes they'll overlap with another. This is because this is a large modpack, and certain mods probably would interfere another.. so yeah.
- Some music are very loud.
- The game can still sometimes crash without a crash report.
There is probably more I've missed. If you found issues on your own, post them in the Comments!

PC Hardware Specs
This is a fairly large modpack, so having these specs in your current computer is recommended for a playable experience. The better the hardware, the better the experience.
Disclaimer: These are fairly rough estimates. Listed parts may perform worse or better than listed.
Minimum Specs:
Expect a decent to playable experience in 1080p, render distance to low (5 - 7 chunks), low shader settings (no shaders preferably if your system lags too much with any available shaders).
- CPU: Intel Core i7-8700 / AMD Ryzen 7 1700
- RAM: 16GB DDR4 @ 2400MHz
- Storage: 256GB SSD (HDD not recommended, unless you're very patient.)
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4GB / AMD Radeon RX 570 8GB
Recommended Specs:
Expect a good experience in 1080+, render distance to decently far (around 8 chunks or higher), medium shader settings.
- CPU: Intel Core i5-12600K / AMD Ryzen 7 7700
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 or DDR5 @ 3000MHz or greater
- Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 12GB / AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB
Dev-tested specs:
This modpack is tested and confirmed stable with minimal issues on my hardware @ 1080p with medium to high shader settings and high chunks (over 12+ chunks).
- CPU: Intel Core i5-13600KF
- GPU: MSI GAMING X GeForce RTX 4060 Ti (16GB VRAM)
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 (G.Skill Trident Z RGB 3200MHz, 4x8GB)
- Storage: WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe SSD (2TB)
I have no idea how this works on macOS with Apple Silicon chips, like the M series. If you have a Mac machine that's powered with an M1 chip with 16GB RAM or better, feel free to share how the performance is like! I heard it runs differently on macOS, but shaders/specific mods may not work properly. I do, however, have a 2019 16" MBP with Intel, and it's playable.
macOS is optional, Windows is preferred!
Thanks for reading! The description will be updated here and there, since it is yet again an early release. So if you have ideas or encounter issues, or want to share feedbacks on how your experience is going, put it in the Comments or my Discord server! I'm considering making changes for my Discord server so it's for all of my modpacks and not just Forsaken Wilds. It'll be there anyway!
The world may be insane, but you're not.
Who is Hexdar?
Behind the strange ruins, haunted entities, and overgrown world of Forsaken Wilds stands the modpack's creator: Hexdar: Modder, explorer, and wielder of both music and mystery.
As a musician, Hexdar is also known across other platforms as IcyWinter. Hexdar was born from a shift in creative direction, a name that came naturally, like a voice from the void in my mind.
It started with the word "Hex", representing curses, code, and a touch of chaos. But with that name already tied to another digital character from Friday Night Funkin', a new suffix was added: "dar." No defined meaning. No clear origin. Just mysterious… and now, identity.
Today, Hexdar is more than just a name... it's a persona. (some say.)
Hexdar is a modpack developer and curator who crafts immersive experiences with deep atmosphere, unsettling tension, and an eye for detail. Someone who's spent years shaping worlds through command blocks, using mods, music, and storytelling, with a soft spot for the eerie and the unknown ever since childhood.
Also… an Android Guy.
More modpacks are in the works. More wilds to explore. More mysteries to be uncovered.
The only question is, will you make it out of them?
