Outbreak: Containment Lost — v0.5.0 Beta

Fixed

Fixed severe multiplayer and singleplayer freezes caused by Burnt repeatedly performing blocking Soul Clearing structure searches.

Prepared Outbreak Burnt Soul-Clearing Compatibility v1.0.0 to replace only Burnt’s blocking searches with a time-limited system that scans already-loaded chunks across multiple server ticks.

Fixed a separate Better Chunk Loading issue that could block the server thread while forcing or waiting for unloaded chunks.

Disabled Better Chunk Loading’s unsafe predictive loading, smart loading, forced unloaded-chunk movement handling, faster chunk tasks, smart post-processing, and waiting intervention.

Raised SmoothChunk’s unload limit from 20 to 80 chunks per tick to reduce unload backlogs and retained-chunk memory.

Fixed normal E-PCA natural spawning so the outbreak now begins on calendar day 3.

Replaced E-PCA’s played-time safety timer with an InControl rule that blocks only natural and chunk-generation infected during days 0–2.

Fixed sleeping unintentionally delaying the beginning of the outbreak.

Removed obsolete InControl rules that rejected or throttled E-PCA spawning and conversion during later outbreak phases.

Restored E-PCA 0.3.5n’s native evolution thresholds and standard point multipliers.

Fixed the broken Survivor Manual using Patchouli’s supported external-book layout.

Corrected the Survivor Manual ID in all eight starter classes and its crafting recipe.

Rebuilt the Survivor Manual with valid categories and entries covering early survival, rocks, water, shelter, infection, starter kits, trees, weapon parts, TaCZ, and the F6 first-person workaround.

Fixed Project: Vibrant Journeys loose rocks so they drop their matching rock items when broken normally.

Added a shared rock tag for Better Beginnings, Project: Vibrant Journeys, and No Tree Punching rocks.

Updated Better Beginnings and Project: Vibrant Journeys rock recipes to accept the shared rock tag.

Added the Better Beginnings Stone Hatchet and Copper Axe to No Tree Punching’s supported weak-saw tools.

Fixed FallingTree compatibility with mixed-log trees, Better Beginnings tools, charred logs, and all verified Pam’s HarvestCraft 2 fruit blocks.

Added safe tree-scan limits of 160 logs and 600 total blocks to prevent oversized trees from freezing multiplayer.

Fixed compatibility between Epic Knights and Spartan Weaponry handles, hilts, and poles.

Fixed Warium’s otherwise-unfilterable private assembly recipes through the separate Outbreak Warium Recipe Restrictions addon.

Removed all Warium crafting recipes and restored only balanced Wire Fence and Razor Wire recipes.

Corrected Alex’s Delight’s barbecue recipe to use the registered cooked loose moose rib.

Disabled three broken Pam’s HarvestCraft Food Core recipes whose result items do not exist in the installed version.

Corrected the Butchery guide recipe namespace.

Fixed Still Life foliage generation through an external datapack that removes only excessive nested count and placement modifiers.

Preserved Still Life’s original trees, bushes, coral, chance filters, and survival requirements.

Fixed overly aggressive Structure Essentials settings that caused expensive retries, false structure conflicts, and missing structures.

Disabled only Warium and Crusty Chunks structures from generating in newly created chunks.

Added valid generated-item models for 11 registered E-PCA spawn eggs that were missing model files.

Fixed first-person body and arm rendering by keeping First-person Model’s hidden layer list empty.

Set Better Combat’s first-person animation mode to its built-in AUTO compatibility setting.

Disabled incompatible duplicate-arm and dynamic-hand settings that interfered with first-person attacks after using F6.

Re-exported the complete controls configuration after the new mods were added.

Fixed all unintended keyboard-key collisions in the included controls configuration.

Rebuilt the eight custom Complementary Unbound and Bliss shader presets from clean original sources.

Fixed shader archive layouts and retained the original shader color pipelines.

Restored dynamic-light mappings for supported held and offhand light sources in every custom shader preset.

Fixed missing or invalid model references for Farmer’s Respite, Farmer’s Delight, Simply Traps, Warborn binoculars, the FracturePoint mask slot, and E-PCA spawn eggs.

Restored the Simply Swords animation metadata resource pack.

Reduced affected Simply Swords texture animations from 20 FPS to 10 FPS without replacing textures, removing frames, or changing weapon behavior.

Added correct Sound Physics reflectivity values for Immersive Weathering grassy permafrost and regular permafrost.

Added Presence Footsteps mappings so grassy permafrost uses grass sounds and regular permafrost uses dirt sounds.

Changed

Replaced the previous starter-class selection with eight player-selected classes: Civilian, Scavenger, Responder, Archer, Lumberjack, Medic, Engineer, and Soldier.

Gave every starter class food, two full leather canteens, the Survivor Manual, and a restrained role-specific loadout.

Limited starter firearm ammunition so gun-oriented classes do not begin with excessive supplies.

Preserved items provided by other mods when a player selects a starter class.

Stopped ParCool, Simply Swords, Alex’s Mobs, and Butchery from automatically giving their guidebooks to new players.

Limited Zombie Awareness enhancements to vanilla zombies, husks, drowned, and zombie villagers.

Prevented Zombie Awareness from adding extra target scanning and pathfinding to E-PCA infected.

Kept a 75% denial chance for selected ordinary vanilla hostile mobs in the Overworld so infection-related enemies remain the primary threat.

Kept creative spawn eggs and command spawning explicitly allowed for E-PCA testing.

Relaxed Structure Essentials to a 1.25 spacing and separation multiplier with a 32-block overlap guard.

Kept Structure Essentials’ automatic biome compatibility disabled to prevent unsuitable structure placement.

Configured FallingTree to use animated FALL_ITEM felling, lowest-block-first order, and sneak-to-disable behavior.

Updated the included Low, Medium, High, and Ultra shader presets for both Complementary Unbound and Bliss.

Tuned shader shadow resolution, filtering, and distance separately for each quality tier.

Adjusted the custom Bliss presets to use a small saturation reduction, 0.9 exposure, and dark nights with moon illuminance set to 10.

Changed Model Gap Fix’s generated-quad expansion to the conservative documented value of 0.002 while retaining the existing 0.007 indent.

Reduced unnecessary structure-placement retries and other expensive world-generation checks.

Improved server stability while eating, saving, travelling, unloading chunks, and generating terrain.

Changed all pack repairs to external configuration files, datapacks, resource packs, KubeJS scripts, options files, or shader overrides.

Separated custom Burnt and Warium code fixes into independent compatibility addons rather than modifying the original mods.

Unchanged

Infection AI, attacks, damage, health, targeting results, conversion, evolution, biome rules, light rules, and active combat behavior remain unchanged.

E-PCA’s native spawning and population systems remain active.

No artificial infected population limit or horde-size cap was added.

No strict external 100-day infection spawn curve is used.

The Outbreak E-PCA Optimizer still changes only retry and scanning schedules for expensive AI operations.

The Outbreak E-PCA Optimizer does not modify spawning, progression, conversion, evolution, attacks, health, damage, or population limits.

Graphics settings, mob counts, infected spawn caps, and intended horde behavior were not reduced as part of the performance fixes.

Normal Alex’s Mobs wildlife remains enabled, including recognizable animals such as bears, seals, crocodilians, birds, whales, turtles, and large cats.

Only the configured fantasy, cosmic, Nether, End, and supernatural Alex’s Mobs creatures remain restricted.

Other installed structure mods were not globally disabled.

Warium items, entities, machines, models, textures, sounds, and gameplay systems remain installed.

F6 remains the documented manual first-person toggle for TaCZ weapons.

Context-specific mouse-button overlaps used by vanilla combat, TaCZ, LR Tactical, and JEI remain intentional.

Cave ambience and environmental reverb remain enabled.

The original untouched Complementary Unbound and Bliss shader ZIP files remain unchanged.

No third-party mod JAR was edited or redistributed.

Notes

World-generation and structure changes affect only newly generated chunks.

Existing Warium structures in previously generated chunks will not be removed.

A fresh world is strongly recommended for accurately testing the world-generation and infection changes.

The Burnt compatibility addon scans only already-loaded chunks and never generates or synchronously waits for chunks during a Soul Clearing search.

The Warium recipe addon is designed specifically for Warium 1.3.0.

Custom Burnt and Warium compatibility addons remain separate CurseForge projects and are not hidden modifications of the original mods.

The earlier delayed eating and endless-saving symptoms were caused by the server thread freezing rather than separate food or saving errors.

Vanilla fire spread remains enabled with doFireTick set to true and randomTickSpeed set to 3.

Burnt’s replacement fire mechanic and vanilla-fire capture remain disabled.

Fire spread should be retested after installing the server-freeze repairs because previous testing occurred while the server thread was severely stalled.

Back up important worlds before installing any beta update.
