What's new

OREBOUND: The World Below — Modpack 0.1.7

Player Feedback & Progression Hotfix

OREBOUND 0.1.7 is built directly around player feedback from 0.1.6.

This update fixes quest ordering, removes an early Quartz progression conflict, rebalances Resource Seam reserves, improves Miner upgrade guidance, and makes the Mining Help chapter much easier to read and understand.

Main Progression Chapter Ordering Fixed

Corrected the ordering of the later Main Progression chapters.

The progression now correctly displays:

  • Chapter 7
  • Chapter 8
  • Chapter 9
  • Chapter 10

instead of Chapters 8 and 10 appearing before their preceding chapters.

Chapter 2 Storage Progression Fixed

The Chapter 2 Frontier Warehouse quest previously required a Functional Storage Controller before Nether Quartz had been introduced.

That progression conflict has now been removed.

Frontier Warehouse now focuses on early storage using:

  • Functional Storage Oak 1×1 Drawers
  • Pipez Item Pipes

Centralized Functional Storage progression now waits until Chapter 3, after Nether Quartz becomes available naturally through Dense Strata progression.

Resource Seam Rebalance

Finite Resource Seam reserves have been reduced:

  • Poor — 1,000
  • Standard — 2,000
  • Rich — 4,000
  • Pristine — 8,000
  • Exceptional — Infinite

This makes deposit quality matter more and encourages continued prospecting instead of allowing a low-grade early Seam to supply extremely large amounts of ore.

Existing worlds migrate remaining reserves proportionally.

Miner Upgrade Requirements Are Now Visible

Miner Upgrade tooltips now explain exactly which Miner tier is required.

For example:

Fortune Upgrade

  • Requires Diamond Miner or better
  • Mining Power 4+

This fixes confusion where upgrades appeared valid in JEI but would not enter a lower-tier Miner.

Mining Help Readability Overhaul

The Mining Help chapter has received another major usability pass.

Added a large header:

MINING HELP & VISUAL GUIDES

with a prominent reminder:

HOLD CTRL + SCROLL WHEEL TO ZOOM

Players can now easily zoom into the visual guides for closer inspection.

Miner Range Explained More Clearly

Mining Help now explicitly explains:

  • One Miner operates one Resource Seam
  • The Miner must face directly toward the Seam
  • A Seam can be placed directly against the Miner
  • A touching Seam counts as 1 / 8 blocks
  • At 1 / 8 there are zero empty blocks between the Miner and Seam
  • Valid range is 1–8 blocks
  • A Seam at 9 blocks is out of range
  • Air is only required through the space between a Miner and a separated Seam

Cardboard Box Seam Guide Improved

The Resource Seam relocation guide has been reorganized for readability.

The five-step sequence now clearly covers:

  1. Find the Resource Seam
  2. Wrap the Seam
  3. Break the Packed Seam
  4. Place the Packed Seam
  5. Unpack the Seam

The screenshots use larger text and improved spacing so instructions remain readable inside FTB Quests.

New Zoom Helper Quest

Added a new optional “Zoom The Visual Guides” helper quest using a Spyglass icon.

This explains how to zoom the Quest Book and points players toward the Miner setup and Resource Seam relocation guides.

Structure Guide Review

Quantum Bore and Worldheart visual guides were reviewed at Quest Book scale to ensure their layouts remain readable alongside the newly improved Mining Help section.
