NFD
Latest Version: 1.1.0
Minecraft: 1.21.1
Loader: neoforge-21.1.247
Recommended RAM: 8 GB
Summary
Build an old-school frontier with Create machines, MineColonies towns, expanded biomes, useful storage, maps, quests, dinosaurs, and optional shaders.
Pack identity
NFD is a Create + MineColonies frontier survival pack. The goal is to keep the spirit of older Minecraft survival while adding deeper building, automation, settlement management, exploration, storage, and optional shaders.
Think: a rough frontier world where you start with simple survival, then grow into a mechanical town with workshops, roads, citizens, farms, storage halls, dinosaurs, traders, maps, and Create-powered industry.
Core gameplay pillars
1. Build a frontier town
MineColonies, Structurize, Domum Ornamentum, TownTalk, SmallColonies, Macaw's building mods, and MineColonies quest support give the pack a settlement-focused backbone.
2. Automate with Create
Create is the main tech identity of the pack. The Create addons expand power, recipes, contraptions, seats, storage compatibility, enchantment processing, goggles, and MineColonies integration.
3. Explore an expanded survival world
Biomes O' Plenty, Alex's Mobs, ShineaL's Prehistoric Expansion, Goblin Traders, Farmer's Delight, maps, and information mods make exploration and survival feel fuller without making the pack feel like a futuristic tech pack.
4. Keep storage practical
Tom's Simple Storage, Storage Drawers, Sophisticated Backpacks, and Sophisticated Storage let players choose between low-tech storage rooms and more convenient storage networks.
5. Optional visual upgrade
Iris, Sodium, Distant Horizons, Photon Shader, and Complementary Shaders - Unbound are included. Shaders are optional and can be disabled from the shader menu if a player wants better FPS.
First-time setup
- Import the modpack through the CurseForge app.
- Allocate about 8 GB RAM.
- Launch the profile once.
- Open Options → Video Settings → Shader Packs.
- Select the shader you prefer, or disable shaders for better performance.
- Create a new world and begin with normal survival progression.
Shader notes
The profile is configured for Complementary Unbound by default, with Photon Shader also included as an alternate. Players who want better FPS should disable shaders before removing mods.
Server notes
This zip is a client modpack export. For a dedicated server, make a separate server pack and test it. Client-side visual or UI mods may need to be removed from the server files.
Likely client-only candidates to review for a server pack include shader packs, Iris, Sodium, Distant Horizons, Xaero's map mods, Jade, and other UI-only mods. Do not blindly upload the client zip as a server pack.
Included mods and credits
All mods are listed in modlist.html in the CurseForge export. A categorized reference list is included below for project-page planning.
