I think this pack looks pretty cool from first glance, only played like 1 hour so far, and I have a few notes:
1. The start is mostly fine, I can understand people getting frustrated from the slow start, but it's not slow, there just isn't a proper guideline for it. I think people would need to know about crafting 3 gravel > 2 flint within the quest description.
2. I think this is a default config of a mod, but the idea of not being able to mine dirt without a shovel is a bad idea. People can spawn in holes or cliffs and it just is very annoying when it occurs. Trees and other stuff, yeah perfectly fine, but dirt and grass should be able to be mined by hand.
3. I'm guessing this is already being worked on for next update (possibly alongside changing recipes), but as it stands, the quest book seems a bit bland.
4. The discord invite button on the main menu doesn't work, it takes me to a non-existent channel, but there is no invite so it shows up entirely blank. Can't find anywhere else where I can join, is there anywhere I can find an invite? I even looked through the main menu resources, and only saw a redirect to a channel, no invite.
Generally though, this was a pretty cool list of mods, and with further development I can see this being really neat!

Hey there, thank you so much for playing Modulity and especially for taking the time to write a positive comment here. I appreciate it very very much.
I'm glad you take part in helping the pack developing.
Your advices are definitely taken in consideration, adding some more description (I had not much time to focus on quests description yet, but will definitely do). I agree with you about dirt and grass that could be mined without tools, will definitely have a closer look here to see what's possible.
Recipe tweaking is already started, and will improve after each update, but this is quite a tedious work and will unfortunately take some time to settle.
Here's the discord invite, which will be repaired for next update too so the button on the main menu will work :)
Have a great day :)
So, initially, i had to spend roughly 10 minutes trying to get 2 sticks...
not a great first impression. 24 saplings and 2 sticks later i can finally make an axe...
This of course brought me to night time without a bed or a way to sleep so now one must hide in a hole or attempt to cut 32 logs (and hopefully get another axe since it will break before getting enough planks) ... Sorry mate, at this point its not a fun experience its just a drag

Thanks for your comment. Very useful actually.
This beginning will be sorted in next update that did not go through yet, but is coming up in the next hours ;)
Day/Night cycle will be longer, so you will be able to do everything you need at day-time (axe, pickaxe etc) during the first day.
Will be working to make it easier to understand and will lower the logs requirement in the quest as well.
Hope it will help the beginning to be a little easier.
In reply to MaxwellJoneZ:
it may be that the stick drops are VERY rng, which can make or break the beginning for me. compared to sevtech, for example, sticks were dropping WAY less often and saplings much more. It may do to just modify the loot tables.
Flint shards and grass rope arent new to the genre, so no issue there, but if my first 10 minutes are "break leaves until the rng gods shine on you and give you another stick"...
glad to hear the beginning is being updated, i noticed some of the text of the quests were still in the works. Keep up the good work, hopefully the initial intro is more engaging moving forward :)
In reply to linguardium:
Absolutely. Stick drop rate will be increased in the next update too.
When you say the first 10 minutes are difficult, I understand and will work further so what to be done is clear and that fun is back :)
Hope it's already improved with the latest changes and that it will get better with further updates.
Yes the pack is still WIP and very happy you took the time to write a useful comment to help me understand where the modpack can be improved :D
In reply to MaxwellJoneZ:
Its not that its difficult, dont misunderstand. Difficulty != Grind.
Its more like the old WoW trope of "collect 30 boar eyes" but that requires 150 boar kills because somehow boars dont have eyes. It just feels like a grind for the sake of the grind. "punch tree, get sticks" would be better than "remove every leaf in a 100 block cube, get 3 sticks"
In reply to linguardium:
I get it, sorry for not using the right words (im not native english speaker).
Grinding when you have to get a shelter in the first 10 minutes isnt what I planned for the pack. Of course grinding will be necessary later in the pack, but that's not what I planned for the beginning and you put it into light, so I can improve it. I think we have the same opinion here ;)
Is the pack not really playable yet? I know it's early on, but I couldn't even break wood blocks and I tried to punch a chicken and the game crashed.
In reply to KinjiruRM:
Thank you for your comment. The pack is fully playable though. I am modifying the questbook so the beginning is clearer.
Re-enable ftbquests through the twitch launcher (or rename ftbquests.xxx.disabled to ftbquests.xxx), should solve the questbook problem.
Please send me the logs through Issue report so I can check about the chicken punching crash.
I can tell you that you should start getting a stick by breaking leaves and breaking a flint on a stone will help you craft a knife. Then with some fibers (cutting grass) you can build yourself a flint axe ;)
Hope that helps.
Curious why the music in the pack doesn't respect the music volume slider. I like to turn music off and listen to other videos etc when I play.
In reply to KinjiruRM:
Sorry about that, checked it out and you're absolutely right, will let you know progress on this issue.
In reply to MaxwellJoneZ:
Thanks!
In reply to KinjiruRM:
Throwing a hotfix right now. Will be available in a few minutes ;)
Do you want me to mark the pack as "release" version so that you see the updates directly into the Twitch launcher - even though if the modpack is not in a release state?
