The Modpack
Survival is no easy feat in such an unforgiving world. As you spend the night inside your home, you start to feel all the awful experiences these cruel lands gave you, as they slowly rise your sense of dread. You start to feel Desolation.
Desolation_mnx is a Modpack that focuses in surviving through extreme conditions and challenging exploration. It's main goal is to bring back the dread from one's early Minecraft days of not knowing what to expect next. It attempts to bring the player back to the feeling one gets during their first night or when first discovering the Nether, doing so by adding many new structures, mob variants and extra mechanics. Sleeping is also not allowed (unless if changed by Gamerule), allowing players the option to play it safe and spend their night indoors or risk it all and fight the night to possibly be greatly rewarded.
Although the Modpack may be played however you may prefer, it is highly recommended to play it on Hardcore mode, as well as keeping the brightness in Moody, dynamic lights turned On and allowing Music, Weather and Ambient Noises. These features are all part of the mysterious and slightly ominous ambience, as well as keeping the player anxious about their fragility.
The Modpack is also optionally built for Multiplayer, with the inclusion of Proximity Voice Chat and a few other tweaks to keep the players fully immersed in their world. Do note however that there is currently no way to revive other players unless you're close to them when they die, and Corpses allow you to reclaim their items and give your friends a proper burial (corpses despawn if you remove all their items, though).
Features
Make it Count - Modpack focused in extreme survival in Hardcore mode, with new mechanics through Tough as Nails and Serene Seasons.
Fight the Night Away - Fight hundreds of new mobs and mob variations, using many new weapons compatible with Better Combat and Combat Rolls.
Amazing Loot - Find and loot many dangerous dungeons, like from Wesley's Roguelike Dungeons, and encounter powerful items with Apothic Attributes.
Best in Exploration - Contains some of the best Adventure and RPG mods out there such as Born in Chaos and L_Ender's Cataclysm.
Atmospheric - Many new sounds, reworked visuals and the optional but highly recommended Hysteria Shader.
Builders aren't neglected - Turn your base into a home with the help of Chipped and Handcrafted, compatible with all wood types, including ones from Biomes o' Plenty.
Fit for Multiplayer - Proximity Voice Chat and other tweaks to keep players immersed, as well as PlayerRevive to promote exploring together and Lootr to avoid having to split loot.
