Misty Dale
Where the mist keeps its secrets.
Videos: Trailer · Inside the pack
Misty Dale is a cozy and slightly eerie adventure pack for Minecraft 26.2 (NeoForge). Explore misty sky islands and hundreds of Terralith biomes, settle in a village, cook, farm, furnish your home, befriend new animals and work through one hand-made map of 347 advancements — every vanilla and mod tree woven into a single web.
The whole pack is in English and Russian: switch the game language and the logo, title texts, advancements and mod descriptions follow.
What's inside
- Worlds: Terralith biomes with sky islands, Structory ruins, livelier Better Village villages, YUNG's frog villages of Ribbits, and a separate Biospheres world type — glass spheres floating in the void, each with its own biome (Create World → World → World Type).
- Home and kitchen: Farmer's Delight, Croptopia, Chef's Workbench, Pantry for Blockheads, Crate Delight, Saros Fruit Trees; furniture from Adorn, Refurbished Furniture, Skniro Furniture, Fantasy Furniture, Voxelized Furniture and Macaw's bridges, fences and paths; Sophisticated Storage, Waystones, sleeping bags.
- Nature: Naturalist, Friends & Foes, Cube Animals, ducks, raccoons, Crop Critters, fireflies, wind chimes and ambient sounds of forests, caves and shores.
- Danger: The Graveyard, Spider Overhaul, Goblin Traders, Better Combat, gravestones that keep your items.
- Looks: the Excalibur resource pack with smooth block transitions (Continuity) and eleven shader packs for Iris (Photon recommended), all optional.
- One advancement tab: six chapters of the pack's own (The Kitchen, Housewarming, Into the Wild, Wayfarer, A Dangerous World, Legend of Misty Dale) plus every vanilla and mod tree, laid out as a web with custom frames per mod; rewards are XP and items.
Performance
Sodium, Lithium, C2ME, Entity Culling, Clumps and Get It Together Drops, Quick Pack. Measured on a 4-core laptop (i5-10200H, RTX 3060): new chunks per second doubled in the overworld (C2ME), item and XP piles merge (−43% entities, +19% FPS in a farm scene), start-up to the world 16 s faster. Misty Dale Fixes removes several lag sources and crashes of the included mods (see its page).
Requirements
- 8 GB of RAM for the game is recommended (6 GB minimum). More is not better here: with 16 GB+ the default ZGC collector lets garbage pile up and the game stalls for seconds.
- Java 25 (the CurseForge app installs it).
Mods made for this pack
- Misty Dale Fixes — targeted fixes for mods of the pack.
- Misty Dale Core — the advancement web, logo, title texts.
- Unofficial 26.2 ports: Ribbits, YUNG's API, NeoBiosphere (sources on GitHub, original authors credited).
- The resource packs Misty Dale (extra block transitions: sand, gravel, clay, ice, nylium, sandstone and the Graveyard's blocks; their tiles are drawn in game from Excalibur by Misty Dale Fixes) and Misty Dale Russian (Russian strings for the mods) ship in the pack itself.
