KNCraft is a survival and exploration modpack for Minecraft Java 1.20.1 on Forge 47.4.0. It combines challenging encounters, dynamic weather, temperature management, expanded world generation, and custom integrations between mods.
The pack focuses on preparation, exploration, and using its systems together. Farming, cooking, equipment, shelter, and transportation all contribute to survival.
- Survival and difficulty
- Cracker’s Wither Storm Mod adds a growing threat with multiple encounter stages and a final boss fight.
- Weather2 introduces localized weather, thunderstorms, tornadoes, snowstorms, and sandstorms.
- Cold Sweat adds temperature management, insulation, waterskins, and equipment for heating and cooling shelters.
- Dimension-specific climates require different preparations, including heat protection for the Nether and cold protection for the Depth Dimension.
- Better Combat changes melee combat with weapon animations and attack patterns.
World generation and dimensions
- Tectonic, Terralith, and Biomes O’ Plenty expand terrain and biome variety.
- Dungeons Enhanced, Structory, and Towns and Towers add structures, dungeons, villages, and other locations to explore.
- The Aether adds floating islands, resources, creatures, and dungeons.
- Call from the Depths adds the Depth Dimension and its associated content.
- Immersive Portals, alongside custom compatibility integrations, enables seamless travel through supported portals.
Farming, camping, and transportation
Pam’s HarvestCraft expands crops, fruit trees, ingredients, and prepared foods, while Alex’s Mobs adds wildlife throughout the world.
Nomadic Tents provides portable shelters, Sophisticated Backpacks adds upgradeable storage, and Comforts supplies sleeping bags and hammocks. Better Minecarts, Rope Bridge, and Macaw’s Bridges provide additional transportation and construction options.
Custom KNCraft integrations
The included KNCraft Integrations mod connects gameplay systems across the pack. Features include:
- Cotton and selected wildlife materials usable as clothing insulation.
- Farming-based recipes for camping materials.
- Selected meals and drinks with warming or cooling effects.
- Tent interiors that inherit campsite temperature and support Cold Sweat hearths.
- Aether accessories with climate protection and altar repairs for supported equipment.
- Cooking oil usable in minecart fuel recipes.
- Selected juices processed into smoothies using the Aether Freezer.
- Compatibility fixes for portals, equipment, recipes, and other interactions.
Guides and progression
The KNCraft Guide Book explains the pack’s survival mechanics, dimensions, equipment, and integrations. It includes recipe, cooking, mob, and keybinding references. Players receive a guide and can recover a lost copy with /guide.
The FTB Quests accomplishment journal tracks bosses, discoveries, and mod advancements. Entries are independent, with no required quest chains, recipe locks, item turn-ins, or rewards.
JEI provides recipe lookup, and Distant Horizons supports distant terrain rendering on compatible clients.
Community server
KNCraft has a community server, join with kncraft.beautyinblocks.com.
Server features and settings include:
- Hard difficulty and strengthened Wither Storm encounters.
- Active Wither Storms that continue moving while nobody is online.
- A live BlueMap with Wither Storm tracking.
- Naturally generated Waystones, with crafting and survival modification restricted.
- Simple Voice Chat and a custom clans system.
- PvP enabled, with cooperation encouraged.
Install the matching KNCraft modpack release before joining. The server requires Minecraft Java 1.20.1 and Forge 47.4.0.
