Description
Welcome to GigaCraft!!!
This is a long running project of mine, decided to make the Minecraft experience I ever wanted, and finally deciced to share it with everyone.
In this modpack, you are given the tools to choose your own race (human, orc, dwarf, elf,...) and making contact with many new kingdoms and factions in the game (vikings, Orc camps, bandits, and many more).
With the use of Ancient Warfare 2 and ToroQuest Revamped and JJ Races , the open world of minecraft become a true RPG experience. Be as playing with your friends and making different civilizations, or playing alone and making your own faction to fight the many other hostile (and not hostile... for now...) kingdoms spread around the map.
Mods Highlights:
- Level Up Reloaded: The mod that allows you to pick a class using the book given at the start, and eventually level it up.
- Tetra: The vanilla friendly alternative to Tinkers, it's a more light weighted mod, that allows you to customize your weapons and tools using a custom workbench.
- Ancient Warfare 2: The big boy in the pack, adds tons of new kingdoms in the game, and the option to make yout own! I recommend checking the wiki of that mod, to learn how to make ur own civ.
- Gravestone: A must have in my opinion, makes recovering items so much easier.
- Illagers+: Adds tons of new structures with illagers to the game.
The Performance
I tried my best to avoid bloat and redundant mods in the pack (it might receive some changes in the future), and with a decent PC, I was abble to run it with shaders at a stable 60-70 FPS. You migh experience some rubber bending when loading new chunks, since Ancient Warfare and ToroQuest (or any mod that adds new village-like stuff, honestly) are heavy when it comes to world and chunk rendering, as well as the dungeons and structures mods in the pack.
I highly advise at least 6GB of RAM when playing it, and the correct JAVA arguments in the launcher you are using. If you don't plan on using shaders, it might run even better for you, and for the shaders, I recommend Sildurs, since it's easy to run and very pretty.
Optifine is recommended.
How to start:
To begin with, if you want to use shaders, download Optifine and put it in the mods folder. When opening the game first time, enable all the resource packs and load in your shaders. (Small note, when enabling resource packs and shaders in game, you might experience extreme lag, thats just 1.12.2 stuff, restart you game and you should be fine from now on).
When joining a world, use the mirror to choose and customize your race, then open the black book and choose your Class (the classes gives you different starting buffs), and keep the book to further level it up (5 levels adds 1 level in the book, check the perks to see how much it costs).
And thats it, the world is yours to explore and do whatever you want!!
If you have any doubts about a specific mod, check the mod wiki (you can check the mods in the pack using the Dependecies tab) or look it up on youtube, there are several amazing tutorials out there.
Special Thanks:
I want to thank the people that endured me during the testing and several wipes in the process.
I will be adding more stuff to this section in the future, and maybe a discord link to receive some feedback. So for now, use the comments section.
