Frontier Forge 1.0.0
What's new
Frontier Forge — 1.0.0
First public release. Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.250, 342 mods.
The pack
Built around Wild Hunt, an original monster-hunting mod: take a contract, track the monster, trap it, carve it, and take what you carved to the Smithy. The hunt gates the rest of the pack — Ashfang's Ember Core is required for Mekanism's Metallurgic Infuser, the Fulgur Crystal for the AE2 Inscriber, and Maegroth's Sovereign Crystal for the Ars Nouveau Imbuement Chamber.
Six apex monsters, five weapon classes with real movesets, and a Smithy that takes payment in parts rather than coin.
Quest book
38 chapters, 839 quests, written rather than generated — every quest explains what the mod does, why it matters and what to do next. Six sections: The Frontier, The Hunter's Guild, The Wild, The Forge, Arcana and Ascension.
Progression is flexible: the book guides without locking you out.
Every item and entity the book references was validated against the game's own registry, so no quest asks for something that does not exist.
Menu
Custom title, pause, world-select, options and controls screens — cubic panorama, animated logo, drifting embers and falling ash, and an original ambient theme.
Server
A server pack is published alongside this file. It ships 295 of the 342 mods — client-only mods are stripped, except the handful that register network channels the client requires. Read the included README before starting.
Requirements
- 8 GB RAM allocated. 6 GB is the floor and it will not be comfortable.
- First launch and first world creation take several minutes. The worldgen in this pack is doing a great deal of work; later loads are much faster.
- Java 21.
Known issues
ethecorelogs a harmless NPE on dedicated servers while scanning for client models. It does not affect gameplay.- A few third-party mods log recipe warnings at startup (Expanded Combat's smithing templates, Stellarity's spellbook recipes). Non-fatal.
