Fat Bear Season
Build a home worth coming back to. Then take the long way there.
Fat Bear Season brings wildlife, settlements, expeditions and working minecart trains into a small Fabric survival pack. Follow a village quest, disappear into a dungeon, or build a railway between the places you call home.
Keep the adventure. Lose the equipment grind.
Fat Bear QOL keeps your tools, weapons and armour with you after death. Supplies and XP wait in a recoverable grave, while ordinary durability loss is disabled. A bundle or shulker containing equipment stays intact with its contents, including nested containers.
Your server still controls difficulty and gamerules. The QOL mod does not overwrite them.
A world to settle and explore
- Naturalist: wildlife, including bears.
- Epic Structures: Villages and Dungeons and Taverns: settlements and places to explore.
- Village Quest: reasons to visit settlements and keep travelling.
- Minecart Chain and Minecart Speed Increase: connected passenger and freight carts, with configured boost sections.
- Simple Voice Chat: proximity voice for multiplayer.
- Sodium, Lithium, FerriteCore, ImmediatelyFast and EntityCulling: a selected optimization stack.
The server selection also includes BlueMap and Spark. Discord integration is included but disabled until the server owner configures it. Shaders are not included in the base pack.
Client pack and companion server
The CurseForge main download is the client profile: wildlife, village quests, minecart chains, voice chat, performance mods and Fat Bear QOL. The companion server supplies the structure generation, boosted rails, mapping and server administration mods described above. Those server-only files are not installed by the client profile. This is the same client-side selection as the Modrinth release.
Before you set off
This candidate targets Minecraft 26.3, Fabric Loader 0.19.5 and Java 25. Start with 3 GiB of client memory. Larger worlds, additional content and multiple players need their own performance testing.
Install the CurseForge client profile through CurseForge App once approved. Server operators must configure authentication, their own whitelist and backups. No server world, private server address or account data is distributed.
Despite the name, this version does not add a season or temperature simulation.
Credits and development disclosure
All third-party mods remain their authors' work and retain their own licences. Fat Bear QOL derives its Graves implementation from Fayber's Graves under GPL-3.0-or-later; its Modrinth release supplies corresponding source and notices. Do not install the original Graves alongside it.
Fat Bear's custom integration, tests and project text were substantially produced with generative AI assistance under the owner's direction. There is no generative AI runtime feature. Gallery images are actual Minecraft renders from staged test worlds; no generative image assets are used.
