Far Land
Far Land is an exploration modpack for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge). The world is big and wild: tall mountains, deep river valleys, new biomes, new caves and hundreds of places to discover. You go wherever you want. The pack gives you a long road to follow, from your first village out into the far lands and other worlds, all the way to the Elder Dragon.
What you do
- Explore. Huge mountains, wide rivers and many new biomes. The farther you travel from spawn, the stronger the monsters and the better the loot.
- Search for ore. Ore lies in large regions, like real rock. Brush the rock and sift stream gravel to learn what lies below, then build your mine there.
- Build. Create and many of its addons: machines, trains, airships, and tools, weapons and armor you smith yourself from any material.
- Live with the villages. Trade with villagers, follow the roads between villages and hire villagers without a job to work at your base.
- Learn the old arts. The village Elders know magic: step into a hearth fire and come out in another village, brew their potions, wake stone statues to guard your home.
- Visit other worlds. The Nether, the End, the Aether, the Twilight Forest and the Otherside. Build a rocket and fly to the Moon and to the stormy Vestige.
- Defeat great foes. Twelve great bosses each hold one Elder eye. Collect all twelve, open the Elder Portal and fight the Elder Dragon in the Far End.
- Fly. Tame an eagle, a soul vulture or a young dragon and carry it on your back to glide and fly.
Made for Far Lands
These mods were made just for this pack:
- Far Lands Core: the road through the pack, the Wayfarer's Journal (a guide book you get when you first join) and the wild frontier.
- Elder Arts: the seven arts of the village Elders.
- Elder Dragon: the twelve eyes, the Elder Portal, the Far End and its dragon.
- Create: Far Skies: rockets, the Moon, the Vestige and satellites that map your world.
- Create: Smithworks: smith your gear step by step on Create's machines.
- Create: Track Covers: pave train tracks into streets, like tram rails.
- Hired Hands: villagers who work for you for a daily wage.
- Generation Tweaks: ore regions and prospecting.
- Roads & Rumours: roads between villages, place names and rumours of far places.
- Lay of the Land: flower beds, the cold, snowstorms and sandstorms.
- Borrowed Wings: birds and dragons you wear to fly.
- Too Peaceful: wild animals that defend themselves: grizzly bears, wild boars, snapping turtles, hornets, rams and lynxes.
- Secret Rooms: hidden doors, peepholes and secret levers.
- Battle Towers: tall towers full of monsters and loot, with a golem asleep on the roof.
- Fair Share: in a group, everyone still finds their own loot in each chest, but a smaller share of it, so the world's treasure lasts.
Good to know
- Help in the game: you get the Wayfarer's Journal when you first join. Look up any item in JEI. The loading screens show tips about the pack.
- Java 25: the pack runs on Java 25. In the CurseForge app, open the pack's Profile Options and choose Java 25.
- Memory: give the game at least 12 GB of RAM.
- Far views: Distant Horizons draws the land far beyond your normal view distance. Iris is included, so you can add any shader pack you like.
- Playing together: claim land and form parties, talk with voice chat, and every player gets their own loot from each chest.
- When you die, your items wait for you in a gravestone.
