Escape the Heat
You crash-landed on a planet that is trying to cook you. Build your way off it.
Escape the Heat is a Minecraft **1.20.1 Forge** survival modpack. There is no ore in the ground and no water on the surface, and the midday sun will kill you. Everything you need comes out of a sieve or a machine you built yourself — and it all points at one goal: a rocket, and a way off this rock.

## 🏜️ The planet
**Heat is the enemy.** Body temperature is a real threat all day long. The wreck of your shuttle keeps one small cabin bearable; everything else — a workshop, a trip across the dunes, a cold desert night — needs climate control you build yourself.
**Water is made, not found.** Pond water is dirty and makes you sick. Purifying it, and then producing water in quantity, is the first half of the game.
**No ore, anywhere.** Every metal comes out of sieved sand, dust and gravel. Early on that means one click working a whole bank of sieves; later, machines do the sieving while you sleep.
**Quiet first, dangerous later.** The first three days are calm, so you can get a shelter up. After that the planet gets more hostile as you make progress — not just because the days pass.

Around 100 quests, written for this pack in the voice of the stranded pilot, guide you from the crash to the launch; a short Welcome chapter covers the basics first. Rewards are salvage crates and a pilot's log that fills in as you go.
**Every tier leads to the launch.** Create, Thermal, Mekanism and Applied Energistics are linked by their recipes: each tier's machines need parts from the one before, and the rocket needs all of them.

**Escape the Heat is inspired by [Forever Stranded](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/forever-stranded) by GWSheridan** (Minecraft 1.10.2), which was itself inspired by *Crash Landing* by Iskandar. It is an independent reimplementation of that premise on modern Minecraft — not a port, a continuation or an official successor. The mod set, configuration, quests and progression were all made from scratch.
