What is this?
First of all, if you're reading this, thank you so much for taking the time to view this project! Dodo's Collection is a Vanilla+ modpack that I made in the very brief moments of free time that I have while attending college. It contains a variety of mods that each enhance the core gameplay loop of Minecraft in different ways. Allow me to elaborate:
Combat
Using the Better Combat mod (by daedelus_dev), attacking animations are now super detailed and smoother than butter, both in 1st and 3rd person! Combine this with the Combat Roll mod by the same developer and weapon variety from the Simply Swords mod (by sweenuss), and you get an overhauled combat experience that could make the original game developers cry! But it doesn't end there. I've also included the Shield Expansion mod (by InfernalStudios) which not only adds more shields, but it also adds a parry mechanic that allows you to deflect projectiles and stun melee attackers after executing a skillfully timed block.
World Gen
Thanks to an amazing human being by the name of YUNGNICKYOUNG, this modpack has multiple mods that revamp Vanilla landscapes and structures in a way that makes them pop without being too overwhelming. Other notable mods of this nature include Oh the Biomes You'll Go (by AOCAWOL), Incendium, and Nullscape (both by Starmute), and Integrated Dungeons and Structures (by CraisinLord). Exploration has never felt so fulfilling!
Mobs & Bosses
I've always disliked how stupidly overpowered you can get in Vanilla Minecraft while having no mobs or bosses that can give you a challenge, so I decided to fix that. This modpack includes mods that add a plethora of passive and hostile creatures to spice things up. We have Alex's Mobs (by sbom_xela), Mythic Mounts (by chirpycricket__), Creeper Overhaul (by joosh_7889), and a few others. As for the new bosses on par with the Warden, Wither and Ender Dragon, there is the L_Ender's Cataclysm mod (by mcl_ender) which also adds new dungeons and music in addition to 6 absolutely terrifying bosses. Additionally, the Mutant Monsters (by Fuzs) make a return along with a few newcomers that you'll meet later.
Magic
In this modpack, you can explore an in-depth Magic mod called Iron's Spells and Spellbooks (by Iron431), which introduces Wizard type magic with a little sprinkle of MMO RPG. This mod will have you exploring the world in search of various catalysts to further your knowledge of the mystic arts. These include spell books, magic scrolls, arcane trinkets, elementally charged runes, and much more.
RPG Mechanics
These are, by far, my favorite mods in this entire pack! These mods add brand new RPG-style gameplay mechanics that give more depth and identity to the mundane progression system of Vanilla Minecraft. The stars of the show are Origins Forge (by EdwinMindcraft) and Origins: Classes (by DragonsPlus), which will give your character indefinite buffs and debuffs depending on which ones you choose when you spawn in. The Paragliders mod (by Tictim) adds the Upgradable Health and Stamina mechanic from BOTW along with (you guessed it) functioning Paragliders. The Relics mod (by SSKirillSS) adds a bunch of equipable relics that give different abilities and stat boosts depending on how much you level them up.
Economy & Shops
I've also taken the liberty of including 3 special mods that can allow for a functioning economy on your server. These mods are Pocket Money (by Weaver_66), Simple Shops (by wolforce), and Player Trade - Secure Trading Between Players (by Zetal).
And So Much More!
There's still so much that I didn't go into detail about, but I'll leave all of that for you to find out in your own playthrough. I will preface that this modpack is meant to be played in a multiplayer setting, either with a bunch of friends or a whole server. The major mods in this pack are highly configurable, so you can play it however you like. Finally, I want to clarify this one important thing: Please support the original creators of all the mods used in this pack! I named a few of them, but please also check out the ones I didn't mention. I am in no way affiliated with any of them and I did not assist in the creation of any of these mods.
