DeadFrame is a first-person horror modpack inspired by the raw visual realism of BodyCam and the relentless survival horror of Outlast.
Designed around immersion, vulnerability, and psychological tension, DeadFrame transforms Minecraft into an environment where every location feels unfamiliar and every encounter carries consequences. A grounded, bodycam-inspired perspective brings you closer to the experience, while hostile entities and oppressive environments make exploration a constant risk.
There are no reliable safe zones. (Probably.)
Silence doesn't mean you're alone. And what you see isn't necessarily all there is.
Features
- Evidence Photography System — Document the horrors lurking in the darkness. Use your camera to photograph hostile entities and collect photographic evidence. Every successful shot brings you closer to completing your objective — but getting a clear picture may mean getting dangerously close.
- BodyCam-Inspired Visuals — a grounded first-person perspective, atmospheric lighting, and immersive visual effects create the feeling of being inside a recorded incident rather than a conventional Minecraft world.
- Outlast-Style Survival Horror — vulnerability takes priority over combat. Knowing when to move, when to hide, and when to leave something alone can make the difference between survival and death.
- Unpredictable Threats — encounter hostile entities such as the Cave Dweller, Corpse Stalker, The Knocker, and others lurking throughout the world. Their presence turns familiar environments into places you may hesitate to enter. (The roster of creatures may change as development progresses, depending on how well they fit the experience.)
- Immersive Sound Design — distant noises, unsettling ambience, and environmental audio make awareness essential. Sometimes, hearing something is the only warning you'll get.
- Exploration Without Certainty — descend into caves, investigate abandoned structures, and venture into isolated locations where visibility is limited and the way forward is rarely reassuring.
- Persistent Psychological Tension — darkness and uncertainty do most of the work. The experience isn't just about what you encounter, but what you expect to encounter next.
- Recommended: Play alone, with headphones, in a dark room.
Important Notes
- Keep the Default Settings — avoid changing the default video, audio, and gameplay settings, as doing so may cause visual issues or unexpected behavior. You may freely adjust the game language and sound settings to your preference.
- Report Issues — if you encounter bugs, crashes, visual glitches, or other problems, please report them in the comments. Your feedback helps identify issues and improve the overall experience.
- Development & Updates — DeadFrame will continue to receive updates throughout development until its official release or until the modpack is considered complete, whichever comes first. Updates may include bug fixes, configuration changes, general improvements, and additional content.
Thank you for playing DeadFrame and helping make the experience better.
