Take the scenic route. Bring a friend.
Calm Journeys is an exploration-focused survival pack for Minecraft 1.21.1 on Fabric, built around beautiful landscapes, comfortable travel, and shared adventures at your own pace.
Follow a river through a mountain valley, sail to a distant coast, and pitch a tent when the sun goes down. Make a furnished home together, discover a village beyond the next ridge, or prepare for a portal expedition when you feel ready.
A world worth wandering through
- Mountains, valleys, and varied forests: Terralith and Tectonic reshape the overworld while keeping its familiar block palette.
- Places to discover: expanded villages, towers, taverns, ruins, and illager outposts bring destinations and encounters to your journeys.
- Atmosphere: Complementary Unbound shaders, Faithful 32x textures, bushy foliage, falling leaves, rain particles, and configured mist give the world a warmer, richer look.
Settle in, then set off together
- Small Ships adds sailing vessels with passenger seats and cargo storage.
- Simply Tents provides craftable, portable camps; interior pickup is enabled.
- Sophisticated Backpacks and Storage offer room for supplies, sorting, filters, and upgrades.
- Refurbished Furniture makes a shared home a welcome place to return to.
- Xaero's maps, waypoints, Waystones, convenient enchanting, JEI recipes, and animated tree felling help keep everyday play approachable.
Adventure when you want it
The Twilight Forest, The Aether, Eternal Starlight, Deeper and Darker, and AdventureZ with VoidZ offer new dimensions, discoveries, and bosses. Floatlands adds a separate world of floating islands made from familiar blocks. Individual mods provide their own advancements and progression.
Normal survival combat remains part of the experience. Explore, build, and camp at your own pace, then choose when to take on a dungeon or boss.
Play with friends
The pack includes e4mc: the host opens a world to LAN and shares the generated connection address with a friend over the internet. Keep the host's world open while playing. Every player needs the same pack version.
Waypoint teleportation within the current dimension is enabled without operator permissions for convenient co-op travel. Waystones provide another travel option, including links between dimensions.
Getting started
- Minecraft Java 1.21.1, Fabric, and Java 21. Install through the CurseForge app and create a new world with structures enabled.
- Memory: use 8 GB allocated in the CurseForge profile settings. More Java memory does not increase video memory; shader performance depends on your GPU and settings.
- Visual defaults (beta.5): balanced Unbound lighting, 10 render chunks, 6 simulation chunks, detailed clouds, atmospheric fog, reflective water, and bushy foliage. Solid-block reflections and rain puddles are disabled for a more natural appearance. Falling leaves are noticeable without filling the screen.
- Controls: M opens the world map, B adds a waypoint, U opens waypoints, and G opens a backpack. JEI shows recipes beside the inventory.
