Break Out Speedrun is a new and exciting take the popular indy challenge pack.
Just like in the original, players have to break through multiple layers of stony shell and use a growing number of mods to achieve their dream of breaking out... but now the timer is ticking. The basic mechanics and requirements of the pack are the same and it is NOT recommended to try the speedrun without playing the original pack as little guidance is offered. For the speedrun, players will have some additional tools at their disposal -- like the much-requested Ore Excavation -- and quite a few of the basic aspects of the pack have been sped up -- like Water Strainers -- so that the player is never left waiting on the RNG but instead racing to keep ahead of it.
And for those of you who have delighted in finding little shortcuts, exploits and tricks in the original pack, now is your chance to put every single one of them to use as you challenge yourself and other players for the fastest time!
While the speedrun version has been designed with the goal that a solo player can complete it in one intense session, to really take advantage will take a coordinated team. Directions for setting up a multiplayer run are included at the start of the questbook.
This new version will be in open beta for one week -- until March 4 -- at which time I will do any fixes necessary and release it as a FINAL version so that all times posted will stand. Top solo and team times will win everlasting Fame and Fortune. For realsies. Yeah.
