Ok yeah, the last update was 10 months ago and the pack is already complete, but updates to core mods have transpired and there were a bunch of inconsistencies and bugs I've discovered in 2.3, which itself was called the "Definitive Release"... Thus, I have revisited Beta Rising recently after a long/personal "hiatus", to finalize it or rather polish and post as-is alongside unfinished content, and put a close on this chapter of my life! With 2.4, you will have access to the truest version of the modpack instance as I first imagined it from scratch during dev 1.0 and revised through releases 2.0.

Beta Rising is a modern adaptation of "OG" Minecraft, centered around an all-new "HC" Beta 1.7.3.

This is a total-conversion modpack of 1.20.1, transforming it into the ultimate amalgamation and epic culmination that is Minecraft, blending the best elements from every era and prioritizing genuine innovation as opposed to contrived continuation. It restores a bit of everything you can remember, ranging from: Notch's earliest Development Builds/Tests, Alpha, Beta, Early Mojang Releases, and hallmark Microsoft versioning content following 1.7.10 such as 1.8.9, 1.12.2, 1.16.5-1.20.1+!… minus most of the "bad" stuff.

Powered by the latest technology, infused with faithful preservation and forged from devout inspiration, Beta Rising revitalizes the beloved 2011 block game, bringing it back to simply that—before the "powers that be" slowly dismantled, buried and replaced it.

Whether you're a die-hard veteran longing to rediscover the magic of Beta or a newcomer eager to delve into Minecraft's rich history, Beta Rising promises an unparalleled and polished experience that blurs the lines between classic charm and modern innovation.

With Modern-er Beta's world presets, default world types+datapacks, diverse combinations, and limitless possibilities, you can seamlessly explore over a decade of history—or build your own story, at the brink. Generate a world from Classic 0.0.14a_08 all the way up to 1.20.1!
• A significant/impressive FPS boost over Vanilla, consolidating all the best/latest performance-enhancing, tech-feat mods.
• Shader support, with a few hand-picked shaders pre-installed.
• Old world height: Min Y = 0, featuring old ore generation/distribution.
• Old villages, less structures overall, and new structures alike, including: classic Battle Towers, Sheepmen (Pillager) Outposts, strange occurrences, and more.

• No Hunger (Beta Health System), with balanced healing items that vary in consumption speed based on their effectiveness.

Pre-installed are 50+ built-in texture packs and addon packs. Customize your experience over the different visual styles, and mix-and-match your way to achieve the perfect look and feel.

Additionally built-in are optional datapacks: Cascades (hybrid modern/beta worldgen), Caves and Cliffs world height (min Y = -64), No Tall Grass (pre-b1.6), Old Achievements Only, Standard Progression, etc.

The early game progression has been changed to put your survival skills to the test. Metal tools require to be Forged, Campfires are the first step to smelting, Respawning now serves as a punishment, and more...
