What's new

Ascending Fishers 0.6.5

Quality, Compatibility & Onboarding Update

Ascending Fishers 0.6.5 is a large polish update focused on player feedback, clearer onboarding, compatibility fixes, storage improvements, quest cleanup, and Core 0.6.0.

No major new content mods were added in this release. The focus was improving and stabilizing the systems already in the pack.

Updated Ascending Fishers Core

Updated to Ascending Fishers Core 0.6.0.

Major Core improvements include:

  • Abyssal Crown Leviathan duplicate-spawn fix
  • Auto Angler + Apotheosis affix compatibility
  • Hammer + FTB Ultimine integration
  • Angler Workbench text and readability improvements
  • Full custom equipment enchantment audit
  • Additional compatibility and progression cleanup

Major Questbook Cleanup

The questbook received another large validation and polish pass.

Final questbook totals:

  • 49 chapters
  • 1,074 quests
  • 3,623 unique IDs
  • 0 duplicate IDs
  • 0 missing dependency references

Special Character Fixes

Several quest titles were cleaned up after certain special characters caused FTB Quests rendering problems.

Updated areas include:

  • Gravel and Sand
  • Canvas and Rope
  • Create continuation quests
  • Applied Energistics 2 continuation quests
  • Apothic Enchanting bookshelf progression
  • Simple Magnets progression
  • Additional titles found during the full quest audit

Quest titles now avoid problematic raw symbols where necessary.

Clearer New-Player Onboarding

The beginning of Ascending Fishers has been rewritten to make the intended gameplay loop much clearer.

New players are now told directly that:

  • the pack begins on a tiny ocean platform
  • traditional mining is not the intended early-game progression
  • fishing acts as the early resource/mining system
  • the ocean and Infused Waters provide progression materials
  • the questbook and Angler's Arsenal Guide should be used as the primary progression guides

The first fishing steps now explain the intended start much more clearly.

New players also receive clearer information when joining multiplayer worlds and using the /startangler system.

Pipez Infinity Upgrade

The Infinity Pipe Upgrade is now obtainable through normal progression.

Recipe:

  • 1 Ultimate Pipe Upgrade
  • 4 Nether Stars
  • 4 Redstone Blocks

This gives late-game Pipez systems a proper survival progression path.

Sophisticated Storage

  • Increased Netherite Barrel capacity from 132 slots to 180 slots.

This gives Auto Angler and high-volume storage setups more breathing room without introducing another storage tier.

Refined Storage

  • Refined Storage Controller energy capacity remains increased to 50,000 FE.
  • This allows high-end wireless setups using Infinite Range and Dimension upgrades to function without immediately overwhelming the Controller's internal energy buffer.

Draconic Evolution

  • Removed the Draconic Evolution Information Tablet quest.

The Information Tablet relies on legacy Project Intelligence documentation that is not currently functional on Minecraft 1.21.1, so the quest was removed rather than directing players toward a broken guide system.

A small informational tooltip remains on the item itself for players who encounter it elsewhere.

Auto Angler + Apotheosis

  • Auto Angler-spawned mobs can now receive Apotheosis affixes.
  • Affixed enemies can properly drop Apotheosis equipment.
  • This restores expected interaction between Ascending Fishers automation and Apotheosis progression.

FTB Ultimine + Hammers

Ascending Fishers Hammers now integrate with FTB Ultimine.

Players can use Ultimine while crushing supported block groups with Hammers, including:

  • Cobblestone
  • Gravel
  • Sand
  • Deepslate
  • Netherrack
  • Blackstone
  • End Stone

Durability is consumed normally for every processed block.

Abyssal Crown Leviathan

  • Fixed duplicate world-spawned Abyssal Crown Leviathan encounters.
  • Awakening state is now correctly persisted.
  • Duplicate loaded Crown bosses are cleaned up automatically.
  • Normal Endless Leviathan behavior remains unchanged.

Angler Workbench

The Angler Workbench received a visual readability pass.

Improvements include:

  • cleaner labels
  • sharper stat text
  • improved spacing
  • cleaner Pole / Material / Ascension labels
  • reduced shadowed/doubled text appearance
  • retained the original white/light Workbench style

No slot or button layouts were changed.

Equipment & Enchantments

A full enchantment compatibility audit was completed for:

  • Angler Poles
  • Angler Bows
  • Angler Swords
  • Angler Armor
  • Custom Hammers
  • Vanilla enchantments
  • Apothic Enchanting

Meaningless durability enchantments were removed from permanently indestructible equipment while useful enchantments remain supported.

Release Focus

0.6.5 is intentionally focused on stability and polish.

Several additional mod/addon suggestions are being reviewed for future releases rather than being added at the last minute to this stable build.

Thank you to everyone reporting bugs, testing multiplayer, suggesting improvements, and helping Ascending Fishers continue to grow.

Cast deeper. Rise higher.
