What's new
Ascending Fishers Modpack 0.6.0
Progression & Multiplayer Overhaul
Modpack 0.6.0 is a major organization and multiplayer-quality update.
This release includes Ascending Fishers Core 0.5.5.
Quest Book Reorganization
The quest book has been reorganized to make it much clearer what players actually need to complete.
Main Progression
The main Ascending Fishers campaign now lives under:
Main Progression
This contains the required chapters that take players through the core Ascending Fishers progression.
Existing chapter and quest IDs were preserved wherever possible so existing world progress is not unnecessarily reset.
Required progression no longer depends on optional Mod Help content.
Optional Mod Help
The old Mod Guides section has been reorganized into:
Optional Mod Help
This section contains the larger tutorials and optional guides for mods and systems such as:
- Create
- Powah
- Mekanism
- Applied Energistics 2
- Apothic Enchanting
- Quality of Life & Travel
- Additional mod-specific help
The goal is to clearly separate:
What you need to progress
from:
What is available if you want more help or deeper mod content
Guide Books
The Guide Books chapter has been moved to the top of Main Progression so important reference material is easy to find immediately.
It remains optional and does not block progression.
Angler's Arsenal Guide
Added the new official Angler's Arsenal Guide.
The guide explains the Ascending Fishers equipment systems, including:
- Angler Poles
- Components
- Workbench upgrades
- Armor stats
- Bounty
- Bow progression
- Weapon progression
- Discipline gear
- Upgrade Matrices
- Ascension upgrades
- Hammers
The existing Angler's Workbench progression introduces players to the guide early in the pack.
Abyssal Crown Progression
The Abyssal Crown chapter has been moved underneath Main Progression.
It now appears after the normal numbered progression instead of existing as a separate standalone section.
New Multiplayer World Start
New worlds now begin on a central lobby platform.
Players can use:
/startangler <count>
to choose how many starter islands should be generated.
Examples:
/startangler 1
for one shared island,
or:
/startangler 4
for four separate islands.
The system supports up to 64 starter platforms and automatically spreads them apart.
Later-joining players are assigned unused islands when available.
Map Cleanup
JourneyMap is now the intended navigation and minimap system for Ascending Fishers.
FTB Chunks remains installed for:
- Chunk claiming
- Force-loading
- Claim management
However, its duplicate minimap and waypoint/death-marker rendering are disabled by default.
This avoids having two competing minimaps while preserving the useful FTB Chunks server and claim features.
Auto Angler
- Pickaxes are now the preferred tool for breaking Auto Anglers.
- Auto Anglers break faster and more consistently with the intended tool.
Existing QoL Features
0.6.0 continues to include the recently added:
- 5 named
/homelocations - Chunk Loader blocks
- Dedicated Elytra slot
- Iris + Monocle shader support
- Optional Quality of Life & Travel guide
- Expanded Apothic Enchanting guide
Compatibility
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.250
- Ascending Fishers Core 0.5.5
This update is focused on making progression easier to understand, multiplayer worlds easier to start, and the pack's custom systems much easier to learn.
