Between mods such as Ars Nouveau, and hexerei adding dynamic magic systems to the pack. Occultism adding summon able demons, and corail tombstone with its spirit magics. There are many ways to play around with magical systems.
As for exploration you can find many unique set pieces from the additional structures, awesome dungions, and castle in the sky mods. With lootr you are even incentivized to explore with friends as the loot is instanced rather than fighting for it.
