Infected Variants
Devastator

The Devastator is a heavily mutated infected with an oversized and deformed arm.
It is extremely dangerous in close combat and can deal devastating amounts of damage to unprepared players.
Although relatively slow, allowing a Devastator to get too close can quickly become fatal.
It is designed to punish careless melee combat and force players to keep their distance.
Resonant

The Resonant is a blind and deaf infected.
It cannot see you.
It cannot hear you.
Instead, its behavior revolves around detecting living targets through scent.
Once it detects a player, it can begin tracking and searching for them, creating encounters focused more on tension and stalking than simple direct pursuit.
The Resonant is designed to make exploration feel less predictable and safe.
Wallbreaker

The Wallbreaker is a massive late-game infected designed to threaten fortified bases.
By default, it begins appearing from day 50 onward.
If a player attempts to hide behind walls or structures, the Wallbreaker can destroy blocks in its path to reach them.
It also has a powerful ground attack that creates a shockwave in front of it. The shockwave can damage and knock players back while also destroying nearby blocks.
Players can avoid the shockwave by jumping at the correct moment.
The Wallbreaker has an enormous amount of health and moves relatively slowly, but it is designed to make hiding behind strong defenses much less reliable during the late game.
VelociraptorZ

The VelociraptorZ is a fast and unpredictable infected predator focused on stalking, ambushes, and horror.
Unlike most hostile creatures, it does not always immediately rush the player.
It can slowly approach and observe its target before beginning a full chase. Once aggressive, it becomes extremely fast.
The VelociraptorZ can perform powerful long-distance leaps, allowing it to reach players who attempt to escape by climbing onto elevated structures.
Its leap can deal damage and knock players away.
When attacked, it may also release an infectious burst capable of poisoning nearby players.
Killing one for the first time does not necessarily mean the encounter is over.
VelociraptorZ has two lives. After its first death, it collapses and remains motionless before eventually rising again. It must be killed a second time to permanently defeat it.
During the day, VelociraptorZ can sleep on the surface. Getting too close or attacking it will wake it up.
At night, it becomes naturally active and begins hunting.
VelociraptorZ can naturally appear across the surface of the Overworld but will not naturally spawn inside caves.
Players may also rarely catch a glimpse of one watching from behind a nearby tree. These encounters do not always represent a real attacking creature.
