What's new
What's new
Time Machine got a huge update!
- New Beta cabin: the main monitor hangs from a ring on the ceiling and moves in front of whoever sits down. Anyone in the 2 seats can use it, and if someone is already using it you can just click to "steal" it (it keeps what they were doing hehe).
- Wall screens all around the cabin with little technical/astronomical schematics, a status screen and a live map.
- The map now lets you drag it (hold left click on it) and zoom in/out with the mouse wheel while holding click. You, your past self, other players and their past selves have different colors so you can find everyone at first sight.
- New circular top hatch (both machines) with hydraulic opening, rungs to climb and a slow descent. The front door is still there too, you need both closed to travel.
New travel animation
- No more clock particles. Now the cabin slowly fills with a soft white light, with some out-of-focus lights floating around like a camera.
- The world changes dimension right when everything turns white, so you never see it loading.
- Your camera stays looking at the same place before and after the trip, and the hotbar/chat hide while traveling.
Your past self is alive now
- Your past self sits in the machine, opens and closes the door, looks around and checks the machine while waiting.
- Your past machine now exists in the past! When the time comes, your past self gets in and the machine slowly fades away with them inside.
- If you visit a moment where you already traveled before, your original self leaves in the machine and your "traveler" self keeps going. No more 2 bodies merging out of nowhere.
- Other players' past selves also show up now, not only yours.
- Past selves only appear while they really were there (no more past selves standing still waiting).
World fusion
- When the loop closes, the world starts glowing, then it flickers between past and present faster and faster until both worlds join. You can even see the players of the present as ghosts.
- Closing the loop doesn't change the divergence anymore, because you are just following your own timeline... unless you change something your past self was going to use. Then the worlds still fuse, but you jump to another worldline.
- You can go back to the present before the fusion with the Beta, except when there's very little time left.
Multiplayer: travel to someone's era
- If a friend is in the past, you can now travel to their era from your machine ("Travel to this era").
- You arrive at the same time they are living there. The fusion moves to the last player who arrived, so now everyone has to wait for their own past self to leave.
Beta camouflage alarm
- If your past self gets close to your Beta machine, an alarm goes off and the machine turns invisible (even for you). Red lights and beeps inside until they walk away.
- Past selves now also make machines visible when they get close, so you can see your past self arriving at their machine.
Lab coat
- The coat no longer lets your skin show through it on the sides, back and legs, while you can still see your shirt in the front opening.
Quality of life
- The Phone Microwave screen no longer shows the hour buttons that didn't do anything. Time Leap is done from the Computer.
Fixes
- Fixed invisible machine blocks (and their light) staying in the world after traveling.
- Fixed arriving to the past outside of the machine and getting crushed by it later.
- Fixed coming back to the present without your machine.
- Fixed the background sound cutting off suddenly when the worlds fuse.
- Fixed the "time left" warning showing twice.
