
This mod adds scorpions to the game!
Brown and Emperor Scorpion spawns in the desert, while the Nether Scorpion Spawns in the Soul Sand Valley.
They will burrow themself in to the ground on daylight.
They drop Scorpion stingers that can be brewed into Venom Coat Potion.
After consuming this potion you will get a venom "armor" that will poison attackers!
If you have a spider eye in your hand then they won't attack you and are tempted by it.
So like that you can make them follow you.
Other mod biome compatibility!
Spawn config options:
- Biome name(s) where it should spawn
- Spawn rate (The higher, the more chance for spawning a group)
- Minimum and maximum number of a Group
- Poison Duration (20 means -> 20 seconds)
- Health Point
- Damage Value
If you want the scorpions to spawn in another mods biome.
You have to change the biome_name line:
For example to:
biome_name = "modid:name_of_the_biome"
To let it spawn in more biomes you have to put a comma (,) between the biome names like this:
biome_name = "modid:name_of_the_biome,minecraft:desert"
The 1.19 version doesn't have a spawn config.
The biome world generation changed a bit and now the spawn settings will be editable in json files.
To select the desired biomes for the mob you have to edit the biome tags.
(/data/scorpions/tags/worldgen/biome/...)
To edit the spawn settings you have to edit the biome_modifier
(/data/scorpions/forge/biome_modifier/...)

I tested the 1.19 version out and the spawn placement and brewing recipes that are in the common setup event worked without any crash.
So i can't reproduce the error.
Send me a detailed crash log in a private message.
And tell me how you came across this bug.

There needs to be Cave Scorpions in this mod which live in the desert caves by default

What if you added scorpion chitin for each scorpion type, and then you could craft armor or something? Just an idea and kind of nostalgic because Mo Creatures and Ice and Fire added it lol (btw, the models are amazing!)

A config where you can change how much health and armor they have would be really nice. Me and my friends are living in the desert on our server and it's just impossible to travel at night at all because there's so many of them, and they're not easy to kill, so you get ganged up on by 12 of them who just keep hitting and poisoning you until you die. I would like the option to make them basically equivalent of spiders, it's fun to have them for ambience in the desert but not when they massively outspawn and outclass every other mob so much.

i uploaded the 1.18.x version that has the new config options
hp, damage can be changed there.
It only applies to newly summoned scorpions.
I changed the spawn settings a bit, if you think that there is still to much of them, let me know!
I made them a bit weaker by default and scorpions will attack other scorpion races now so that will make them decrease their numbers a bit too.

Thank you so much for taking my suggestion! We played with the new version tonight and have already noticed a huge improvement in the spawning. For a while it became hard to encounter zombies, skeletons and spiders at night because it was almost always scorpions taking up the hostile mob cap but things feel a lot more balanced now, and being able to tweak their health is also really helpful. Thank you again for implementing these changes!

Just wondering if you can make your version of the gold berries yet.
