Xenofactions TDM Update

This update is a major overhaul to TDM round flow, spawning, economy, voting, controls, and game modes. All changes below have been multiplayer tested and validated.

Round & Respawn Improvements

  • Players no longer need to die before receiving their next-round loadout.

  • Players who die are now sent back to the correct TDM spawn and held there until the next round.

  • Players joining during an active round are placed at TDM spawns instead of being dropped into combat.

  • Fixed players sometimes respawning at the normal Minecraft world spawn.

  • Fixed spawn placement during:

    • Map voting
    • Round endings
    • Waiting for teams
    • Other match transitions
  • Auto team balancing now immediately moves players to the correct spawn for their new team.

  • Removed the old infinite-respawn Bomb mode.

Survivor Kits

Surviving a round now has an actual benefit.

At the start of the next round, surviving players can:

  • Keep Current Kit — receive their previous kit again for free.
  • Buy Different Kit — enter the normal buy menu and purchase another loadout.

Keeping your kit does not cost buy score, allowing players to save their economy between rounds.

Economy Changes

The default economy is now:

  • Kill: +2 Buy Score
  • Round Win: +3 Buy Score
  • Round Loss: +1 Buy Score
  • Bomb Plant: +1 Buy Score

The loss bonus is awarded when a round ends so it is available during the following buy period.

The first round begins with 0 Buy Score.

These rewards can be configured individually for each map.

Bomb Mode

  • The round no longer ends just because all Terrorists are dead if the bomb has already been planted.

  • After a plant:

    • CT must defuse the bomb to win.
    • Terrorists win if the bomb explodes.
  • Successfully planting the bomb now awards Buy Score.

  • Bomb economy and round rewards have been cleaned up to prevent duplicate payouts.

Free-For-All

Added a new FFA mode.

  • Everyone is hostile to everyone.
  • No Red or Blue teams are assigned.
  • FFA maps use their own neutral spawn points.
  • The last surviving player wins the round.
  • FFA has its own neutral grey/white TDM menu with all players shown in one group.

TDM Menu

Team modes now show actual:

  • Blue
  • Red

instead of the old Friendly/Enemy categories.

Team colors now display correctly regardless of which team you are on.

FFA uses a single neutral player list instead.

New Controls

Added remappable Minecraft keybinds:

  • Open TDM Menu: L
  • Open TDM Buy Menu: B

The Buy Menu key only works:

  • During buy time.
  • While near your team's spawn.

Map Voting

Added player map-skip voting:

/tdm skip

Additional options:

  • /tdm skip yes
  • /tdm skip no
  • /tdm skip status

A strict majority of active players is required to skip the map.

Successful skips enter the normal map-voting process and do not count as a round win or loss.

The current map is also now:

  • Visible but greyed out during map voting.
  • Unable to receive votes.
  • Prevented from immediately winning another map vote.

TDM Sounds

Added sounds for:

  • CT victory
  • Terrorist victory
  • CT round start
  • Terrorist round start
  • Bomb planted

Sounds support multiple configurable variants.

They are now sent directly to the appropriate players instead of relying on positional world audio, preventing sounds from being missed because of distance.

Teamless Admin Mode

Added:

/tdm teamless

This allows admins to leave both teams and observe without participating in the match.

Teamless players do not affect:

  • Team balance
  • Alive-player counts
  • Win conditions
  • Round economy

Admins can still be returned to a team normally.

Other Fixes

  • Improved TDM spawn reliability throughout the match lifecycle.
  • Fixed stale spawn assignments after automatic team balancing.
  • Improved handling of players reconnecting or respawning during rounds.
  • Improved protection and movement restrictions for eliminated players.
  • Cleaned up TDM round-state handling to prevent duplicate rewards and incorrect round endings.
  • Made HBM optional instead of a required Xenofactions runtime dependency while retaining HBM radiation-clearing support when it is installed.
